We came for Christmas, hoping for some peace & quiet. We definitely got it! The cabin was absolutely beautiful and was very beautifully decorated. It was clean, the beds were comfy. The outdoor fire pit came stocked with plenty of wood. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. But we had a few things that were off and for how much it was per night and the competition around, we expected some of these and more. The cabin didn’t offer any shampoo/conditioner. We only had two tiny bars of soap for all four of us for four days. There was no blow dryer. It came with a keureg but no keureg pods... so no coffee or tea, luckily we brought our own. Most cabins around the area offer extras such as salt, pepper, cooking oil and this is a luxury but it’s almost expected if you offer cooking pots & pans, etc. And definitely nice to have when you forgot it and everything is closed for Christmas. The directions were not very clear (last step says “take right at t-intersection then it’s on your right”, we took a right turn at the first pilotfish rd sign and from here it’s left at T, then cabin is on the left. A bit confusing.) The central heat in the detached bedroom didn’t work. There were two space heaters there but only one worked, so it had to be constantly moved from bedroom to bathroom to keep warm. The window was jammed open about a half inch, luckily we were able to finagle it shut but it looked broken. Both bathroom shower drains were clogged and drained very slowly. The main bedroom has a ceiling fan but we assume at some point it had a remote control where you can change the speed, we couldn’t find the remote, the fan was stuck on high. Also, with Covid, we thought we would get disinfect wipes, hand sanitizer or at least some kind of cleaner to help wipe down counters and whatnot but we didn’t have any of that. Again, a total luxury but for the huge upcharge per night for the holiday, we kind of expected it.
