「Had a great stay. Staff were wonderful. Meals in the restaurant were the best I’ve had out for a long time. I’d travel the hour just for the food. Rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. It would have been flawless if there was an 2nd pillow and the door from the stairs entry didn’t bang so loundly when people walked through. Both an easy fix. Would definitely recommend」

「Breakfast and service was excellent but the room was severely lacking in storage. The wardrobe had a hanging rail too high for most women to reach and there was no other place to put other clothes, or flat surface for the usual items. Hopefully this will be addressed in an otherwise pleasant hotel」

「A good find, lovely room, only downside for elderly less mobile was shower over bath but it was a great shower. Staff very attentive and polite. Food at dinner was good, freshly cooked but a little slow. Great setting and would recommend and certainly go again if in the area.」

「Lovely little inn in very quiet location (though easy to get to Halifax). Room was great size, good facilities, bed was comfy! We had a nice view of a sheep field. Cooked breakfast was only available Friday - Sunday, but we were provided with a little cool bag of breakfast items which was unexpected bonus. We only stayed one night for an event in Halifax, but would definitely stay again and for longer.」

「Couldn’t fault the room and staff at check in/behind the bar. Breakfast let the stay down, waiting nearly and hour for 4 easy breakfast (beans on toast, scrambled eggs and pancakes) and when it finally arrived it wasn’t very nice at all, we did wonder if the scrambled eggs had been dropped on the floor and scraped back on the plate- it looked so bad. Such a shame as the rooms were lovely, very clean and the pub is lovely. I would stay again but wouldn’t be rushing back to have breakfast here.」

「Nice and fresh room. Lovely staff. Extra milk/tea/coffee on corridor table and toothbrushes for those who require them. Dog bowls, treats and blankets if bringing your pooch. Food was lovely.」
