“We had a two night stay here in May. Firstly I’d like to say that the staff were superb especially Lucy who seemed to be there every second of every day looking after us checking in, out, breakfast and dinner. Thank you so much. The rooms were clean and the beds were big snd very comfortable. Excellent location in a lovejy area with shops a 2 minute walk away and the station 5 mins away to get into central Manchester. Overall a really nice stay in a nice clean hotel.”

“A nice stay but could have been excellent with a bit more attention to detail. Could have done with a vacuum. Shower gel hasn’t been replenished and pillows weren’t great (not much to them). Great location for bars, restaurants and shops. Easy online check in with key codes entry (can’t generally get in early as it’s unmanned and doors don’t release until 3pm) - guy cleaning did let us in at 2:30pm though which was kind and appreciated. Parking is a pain (not owners fault) car park next door……

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Calf’s Head, Clitheroe. We attended a wedding at a venue not far from here, so it was a great location for us. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the downstairs bar/dining was an asset to our stay. We both enjoyed a lovely full English the morning after with the option of fruit, cereals and yoghurts. “Contacted property manager and Vrbo the day before to enquire about accessing the property. Received no response. Called the owner at 9.15 on the day. He sounded confused but raised no issue, so I got on with my day. Received a text after 10.30 to say the property was not available! Apparently vrbo had not coordinated the availability. Comfy bed great stay right next to tram station
"One of the receptionist seems a little cheeky and wasn’t very helpful or friendly as such. The slimmer figure with long straight hair one was nicer. Sorry didn’t catch their names. The room size is not huge, a little bit like what you would expect compared to staying in London. Toilet hanging bar got a little rusty. But a part from that the room is clean and nice bed. Curtain is dark enough for a good sleep. The building is located at the side of the street so not noisy at all. If it wasn’t for the receptionist I would happy to provide 5* overall. "
