“Mystic River Resort feels like you are staying in the Congo with an amazing staff, food, drinks, and rooms. The rooms do not have AC so we recommend staying here in the winter/spring unless you are used to the humid heat. The excursions available all around are awesome! And the food/drinks within town are amazing and CHEAP! We will definitely be back to the resort in the winter for a cooler experience as we see more temples.”

“An amazing experience! Abdiel, Rita, Ragner, and so many others took such good care of us. Such genuine people at a beautiful resort. Food was great! If you are up early enough you will see a wide variety of birds at breakfast. We even saw a few howler moneys in the evening! We did the ATM tour and appreciated the deep compassion and respect our guide (Ben) had for the history of the archaeological site. We'll be back!”

“We stayed here on a family vacation with our kids and their 9 month old child. The resort had a pack and play available as well as fridge and microwave. The front desk staff was very accommodating and helped arrange taxi service to the Mayan ruins and calico jacks for zip lining. There are several dining options within easy walking distance and we felt very safe in the area. Residents of the area are very warm and welcoming. The pool bar was a welcome sight at the end of a busy day. ”

“The good- The Cooling Rack restaurant has two of the best meals we had in Belize - Crispy Pineapple Jerk Chicken (not the one served in the pineapple) and the Chaya Maya Pasta were phenomenal. The pools were great to cool down in and there was space for everyone. It’s a nice location with good views and a cute atmosphere. The bad- The service was really unpredictable; we had good experiences around the pool and in the Cooling Rack, but less pleasant experiences with the front desk, the sushi……

“My sister and I loved our stay here! The restaurant is great, the staff is so helpful getting excursions booked, and the iguana project is wonderful. The photos do not do this place justice. Sitting by the pool as the sun began to go down and all the lights were on was simply beautiful! The hotel is on a big hill, so while I did do a lot of walking because town is very close - that may not be for everyone! ”

“Gaia is a very beautiful place. The property is so serene and was very grounding. The nature and wildlife is amazing and they do an excellent job to keep guests comfortable even though you are nearly in the rainforest. Enjoyed tubing (& successfully made it over the falls!), rope swing into the river, hiking & night hike. The resort scheduled all our transportation (to/from Belize City) & the ATM tour we did. We stayed 4 nights. In hind sight the only thing we would have done differently was booked a room with A/C. The humidity was brutal in May. ”

“Excellent stay here. The seclusion in the forest is a major plus. Best mixed drinks I had during my whole stay in Belize, including on Ambergris Caye. Food was excellent and home cooked. When looking back on this trip, I'll remember our great time here. Was very relaxing and felt authentic. Pool was smaller but nice. Staff is small, and very courteous and attentive. Rooms and the restaurant was very clean.. also a small gift shop on site was nice. The bungalos were very neat with a nice fans……

“This place is amazing. We stayed for three nights before transferring to San Pedro, and I miss Blancaneaux! We transported by heli and when we were greeted by loving staff with horses and buggy, we were ecstatic! All three restaurants are delicious and fun, and the bar staff is fantastic! The property is insanely beautiful and I need to go back just to explore more.
