A very enjoyable one night visit, clean and comfortable. Friendly helpful staff
An amazing stay for people visiting Peak District. Rooms are fairly clean, very helpful and polite staff. Breakfast was good at a reasonable price.
Overall I recommend it.
I had an amazing experience and enjoyed my stay. Very clean room, friendly and helpful staff. My daughter also enjoyed the kids play are and the library was great too. The overall atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. I recommend YHA Hostel and I will definitely come back again. Thank you YHA Hartington Hall for making our stay memorable .
The hostel was busy with families staying in one of the remarkable range available - domitories, rooms, yurts, huts and camping. But even so the staff were friendy and efficient. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed.
Lovely setting, friendly staff and fellow travellers. In the dales so ideal place to stay and program some excursion, walks, and cycling.
There restaurant offers tasty food. I will stay again if i am in the area.
Set in a beautiful historic building, in a great location to explore the peak district. Met some interesting people including some locals in the bar which is always a nice bonus. Ample parking
Lovely old characterful building that provides a unique reasonably priced accommodation. The staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal location for walking in the Peak District
Really nice hostel in a cool old farm building. The onsite facilities were great. Good food and nice selection of drinks.
The staff were really helpful and pleasant. Shout out to Rachel in particular, she was really good at her job.

Room 32 in the Coach House had no lighting on the corridor so we had to find our way with phone torch and reception were unable to fix it so we carried on with the phone torch! stained pine bedside lockers and a room with just enough space for a double bed. honestly you'd expect better from YHA for £120. great breakfast in the morning though and the staff were friendly. it's just a shame our room was so disappointing and the corridor so dark! i've said as much to YHA but had no response
It was my second time I stayed in this hostel, and definitely will book it again. This is not only because of the location, which is perfect, but also because it's a lovely place to stay. All the staff members are lovely, friendly and professional. The rooms and communal area are clean, and well maintained. There's a restaurant in the main building offering breakfast and evening meals, and the kitchen located in a seperate building, for those who prefer to cook their own meals. The car park is rather small but you can park your car on the road, which is perfectly safe.
This hostel is wonderful. It is large but the bedrooms are large too so we didn’t feel cramped at all. The kitchen is excellent (All-be-it smallish for the number of people). The drying room is fantastic - dries sopping clothes overnight. The only negative was the mattresses - we’ve stayed in a lot of places & are not overly fussy but we had sore backs from these mattresses. There was a big hollow in mine.
Also, as usual, don’t leave valuables in the car overnight - there was a van broken into while we were there.
Otherwise, great place to stay.
Awesome place has everything you need a one stop shop has a cafe for food and drinks and had many amenities and benefits. The staff are very helpful and friendly awesome stay.
Very helpfull staff, really nice building & rooms. Onoy spoiled slightly by rowdy school party in the room below (clearly the handlers were down the pub...) but not the fault of YHA. Great facilities beautiful location, why csmp when you can stay at places like this.
