  • Play for me. Situated in the lovely town of Caldas da Rainha, the D. Carlos I park is a gorgeous 19th century romantic garden situated in the historic centre of the town. This refreshing green area used to work as a complement of the important Thermal Hospital that named the town of Caldas da Rainha (“Queen‘s Baths“). During the 15th century the Queen Dona Leonor, wife of king Manuel the 1st, tried the therapeutic waters of Caldas da Rainha and a long lasting wound was at last cured, after many other treatments and medicines that did not work out. As the Queen realised the excellent characteristics of the waters, she ordered the construction of a thermal Hospital in 1485. The location started developing around this central Hospital

Beautiful vacation home for the family

Every year, we come here with the family to relax. The house offers plenty of space for the whole family and is equipped with everything we need for cooking. The swimming pool is fantastic, as it is sunlit all day and never in the shade, making the water pleasantly warm in the afternoon and perfect for relaxing. The children love the pool. The sea and the Foz do Arelho promenade are just 8 minutes away from the house, allowing us to visit the beach multiple times a day and enjoy all its aspects.

Wonderful

What a great house. Plenty of space for all 10 of us. Safe for the children as there is now a pool fence. Plenty of crockery, etc in the kitchen and everything spotless. Only 10 minutes from the sea or supermarkets. The pool was great so we added a couple of inflatables. Lovely walks and views nearby. Lots of activities nearby. The garden was very pretty and everything was kept beautifully. A great place for all ages.

Magical family holiday

We have just had a magical holiday at the Quinta da Princesa Barbara. The whole family was there to celebrate my parents’ 80th birthdays and it was perfect. The house is stunning and extremely well appointed. It has everything you could possibly need. We had so much fun in the pool and wonderful evenings on the outdoor terrace eating the amazing barbecues we cooked. I cannot recommend the Quinta enough. We absolutely loved it! Raymond and Maria were so helpful and the bedrooms were all so beautiful and comfortable. The location is brilliant - close to wonderful beaches at Foz and Sai Martinho. Thank you! It was a delight from start to finish!

Great time!

Our group of 13 had a wonderful stay. The children enjoyed the pool and there was enough space to spread out for some peace and quiet. The outdoor patio and grill were a particular highlight.

This property was a stunning little villa in a smaller, rural town with access to many main towns and beaches within 15-30 minutes of driving distance. It was the perfect place for our group of 11 people, the pool was a refreshing way to end each day and relax as a family around the outdoor dining area each night. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable and hosts a large group well. The host even left a handful of local items for us upon check-in which was extremely thoughtful. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for families or groups looking for a good home base outside of the busy cities, yet still accessible for day trips.

Great house for an extended family vacations

All you need for a vacation with your family. Calm and beautiful place close to so many cultural and sportive activity that everybody will find something to enjoy. Great communication with the owner and the local property manager. Highly recommend.

Great for large families, too.

We had 8 adults and 3 children staying here and never felt like we were crowded. The outdoor amenities were wonderful and we spent a good deal of time on the patio and in the pool. We ate outside on the long dinner table every evening for a big communal meal and used the grill three times.

What a wonderful holiday

We were three families with kids 3 to 7 years old. What a wonderful week. Kids loved the pool, wonderful dinners and evenings out on the patio. Nice walk to the beach, for adults only though. Spacious and cool inside. Would visit again!

For us... the perfect holiday home

This year we are for the 2nd time guests in this great holiday home. We would like to thank Štěpán for making his house available to us. The property is located just 7 minutes from Foz do Arelho, and can be reached quickly and easily with children. If you need an alternative to the beach, you will find it in the pool. The pool is always on the sunny side and invites you to swim all day long... and is really a lot of fun. The house is superbly equipped... with comfortable mattresses and beds, the kitchen has everything you need to host friends and family. And here, too, no savings were made: the dishes, the glasses, the pots, everything is very beautiful and as good as new. In the living room we could end the cool evenings in the evening or sit relaxed on the terrace. Dear guests, treat "Quinta da Princesa Barabara" well as if it were your own. Because you rarely find such beautiful holiday homes and we want to come back soon... and hope to be guests of Štěpán for a long time to come.

Wunderschönes Haus, mit interessanter Familiengeschichte. Es gab viel zu erfahren und entdecken. Mega Pool und für unsere Familie mit 10 Personen optimale Größe. Ruhige Lage, aber schnell in der Stadt und am Meer. Gute informationen bezüglich Restaurants und Umgebung. Hohe Luftfeuchtigkeit im Haus,aber das ist dem Klima geschuldet. Local tranquilo

Uma boa semana de puro descanso. Local tranquilo e de ar puro. Quartos com bastante espaço e cozinha bem equipada. Varanda grande para um bom churrasco em família e área externa com piscina e jardim excepcional. Praia a 7min carro e hipermercado a 10min. Local excelente para caminhadas em caminhos rurais. Certamente iremos voltar.

Fête 50 ans de mariage

Quinta da Princesa Barbara c'est révélée un lieu magnifique pour notre regroupement familial afin de fêter nos 50 ans de mariage. Maison très bien conçue pour accueillir 13 personnes, avec une belle piscine qui a fait le plaisir des jeunes et des moins jeunes, idéalement située à proximité de la mer et des sites tels Péniche, Nazaré, et à seulement 1h de Lisbonne. Merci à notre hôte Stepan pour sa prestation. Un seul point noir: le séjour est passé trop vite

Douceur de vivre

Maison de plain-pied propre, fonctionnelle, chaleureuse, très bien équipée, avec un accueil très agréable. PS : les photos pourraient, même, mettre plus en valeur la villa !… Par exemple, le porche paraît plus petit qu’il n’est en réalité !!

Très bon séjour

Nous avons passés 2 semaines en famille dans cette belle maison .Tout était parfait. La maison est spacieuse ,bien équipée ,rien ne manque. Nous avons beaucoup vecu à l’extérieur ,bien à l’abri du vent.La piscine a été très appréciée. Nous remercions Stepan et Raymond pour tous leurs bons conseils et leur accueil. Vacances paisibles et reposantes

Nous nous sommes sentis à l'aise et tout était là dont vous avez besoins pour des vacances agréables et relaxantes.Nous avons aimé l'intérieur spacieux ,le beaux jardin et,enfin et surtout la belle piscine.Les plages sont un rêve et presque désertes.
