"The parking lot was absolutely terrible, and I slipped and fell. A staff member also told me they had fallen. My stay was present, but in elevator with has made it a lot better choice for a 71 year-old."

"We had a great stay at the Garagemahal. It was perfect for us: clean, quiet, walking distance to White Grass and a nature preserve. It had everything we needed and is in a beautiful setting. We hope to return one day for more skiing and hiking."

"It was a great stay, the house is very clean and wonderful access to Canaan Valley skiing. The view of the slopes is priceless. We also loved having the garage to load and unload in the cold. My only complaint is the bunk bedroom could have better beds. The white bed especially is very flimsy and you can feel the metal bars through the mattresses. These beds are certainly for young children and not teenagers/ adults. Our stay was wonderful and we would certainly rent again. "

"Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unfortunately this rental was a miss for us and we won’t be staying there again. The positives: The fireplace was very charming, the location was pretty good (only about a 5-7 minute drive from timberline), the hot tub was great, owner/manager was responsive. The negatives: We had a mouse problem that really grossed us out. We understand that mice happen- but there were mouse droppings everywhere! Especially in the drawers and stuff of the kitchen. Like all kitchen utensils and silverware, bowls, plates, cookware etc. We didn’t feel comfortable using most of it - especially without a wash. Once we did wash the things we needed to use- the kitchen supplies are terrible. If you stay here- definitely bring your own or they need replaced. The pots and pans especially. Finally, everything was just sort of rundown and not taken care of. The basement is full of random nets or pieces of games or things, the ping pong table is about to collapse and sort of held up by books, there’s about 100 flies inside the basement lights. We did address the mouse problem with the manager and they got back to us and offered to have maintenance put up traps but with dogs and children it didn’t really seem like a viable option- I had mentioned bait boxes on the outside but didn’t really get follow up with that. I think this could be a nicer property worth staying in with some TLC- handle the mice and get some decent pots and pans and clean up the basement a bit and it would be great. The pans issue (not even including the mouse poop part) alone was enough to turn me off of this rental because it was like impossible to cook anything and that made our time there very difficult to manage and feed everyone. Pretty much had to give up and eat out and eat chips. There was like rust or film that came off the pans into anything we’d try to cook or everything would stick to it- it just wasn’t a good experience to cook in."

"This property worked great for us- a group of 7 and a dog. All bedrooms are nice (king bed, private bathroom except one be with own bathroom outside of the room); great hang out areas (main LV, loft has a cozy reading/work space, and basement has a large screen tv and play area). This house works really well for big groups- and is stocked really well with cookware, cutlery and ceramic dishes. Location is excellent. We would go back in a heart beat! Also, the property management was exceptionally responsive to any of the very minor needs we had while we were there. 5 Only suggestion would be to upgrade tv in main living room for easier streaming options"
