"We had a wonderful time at the Golden Eagle. There were many spaces to gather between the main house, the attached carriage house, the large yard, and the large deck on the first and second story. The surrounding area was also beautiful. A few notes about the place: the were manual A/C units which works well, no fire pit, each of us had good cell service, the water is potable, the nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away in Davis. Some of the many nearby activities: Blackwater falls (20 mins.), Seneca Rocks (40 mins.), Canaan Valley Resort (8 mins.). Canaan Valley has many summer and winter activities that are good for large groups."

"Fabulous new house perfect for multiple couples or families. Private/almost remote location. We enjoyed it in the off season with 4 adults, using hot tub, both decks, firepit, nearby hiking, etc. Had no trouble storing & preparing meals. The instruction about "must have chains or 4-wheel drive" is no joke so don't come unprepared in the winter season! We can't wait to see if the property is further developed in the basement space, but it is awesome already."

"It was fine but not as nice as expected or advertised. Dirty floors/carpet (our socks turned black). The beds were nice. Generally comfy with extra blankets. The water pressure is very low in the shower."

"Having experience with rentals before there was always just enough to get through one day as far as your paper goods and towels and little odds and ends. But they gave us plenty. We didn’t have to go out and get anything else. The kitchen was great fully stocked the bedrooms were clean and had plenty of room to put our things in. There was no overcrowding. Everybody has something to do. There was plenty of games. It was just a fun atmosphere. We saw Bear mama and her 3 cubs and lots of deer. We will recommend this place and we want to return. Thank you."

We had a problem with the ovens not working properly, but there was a toaster oven available for baking. The stairs to the 2nd floor and basement were somewhat difficult to navigate because of the lack of properly placed handrails."
