Garagemahal! Trails and waterfalls right out the door, forested and quiet.

"The Garagemahal is wonderful! The location cannot be beat. Chip and Laurie were helpful and friendly hosts, fixing a small thing very quickly when we reached out. Even though their house is nearby, they provided plenty of space and privacy and made us feel very welcome to enjoy the home and property. The home was clean, comfortable, and spacious, equipped with useful essentials. The deck is huge - great for outdoor meals and relaxing with a view of the large yard and forest that leads to mountain and valley trails, or the dark sky (we saw 5 shooting stars on our last night!). There's a firepit and access to miles of trails, including one that starts at the edge of the yard and runs uphill along a creek with several very pretty small waterfalls within the first half mile or so. The location is amazing, right in Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge (the popular Freeland Boardwalk Trail is on the way - listen and look there for frogs, beavers, birds, and balsam fir trees), very close to Canaan Valley Resort State Park, and not too far to Dolly Sods Wilderness, Davis and Blackwater Falls State Park, and more. We couldn't imagine a better place to stay for our outdoorsy vacation week!"

"It was fine but not as nice as expected or advertised. Dirty floors/carpet (our socks turned black). The beds were nice. Generally comfy with extra blankets. The water pressure is very low in the shower."

"The property was very clean, and the kitchen well stocked with everything we needed! The decor was dated (80s), the towels were pretty worn, the outside property could use some TLC (to make it more inviting), and the twin beds were uncomfortable. But to me, the cleanliness was the most important! Thanks!"

"The Queen cabin was absolutely amazing!! spacious & very clean. Bathroom was as nice as any we've ever seen & the hot tub was the cherry on top!! The owners had a very organized book to help with activities & dining which we greatly appreciated! we will be back for sure!!"

"This house was great! The house was very clean when we arrived. The house was very well stocked with firewood.The full kitchen was very easy to use with a wide assortment of utensils and cookware. We would definitely stay here, again."

"3rd. Times staying at this property I always enjoy it. Microwave wasn’t working told the office it was replaced new the next morning. Upgraded bathroom in our unit big deep whirlpool with a rain shower head."

"Excellent cabin with amenities, easy check in, great for a getaway when you want to pack light. Close to all the outdoorsy things and with a private hot tub for when you’ve overdone it hiking. Spectacular array of fireflies pour from the grass in early July. Bathrooms have heated floors and a heated towel rack, which was a nice bonus."
