Unethical & Unresponsive Owner, Terrible Experience
Very nice pools, onsite restaurant with excellent food & service. Wonderful building staff, great view. But worst rental experience ever. At one point, we asked to add 2 nights. Owner agreed, we paid the difference. Later we found that we couldn’t do extra nights after all, so asked to return to original dates. Tried repeatedly to reach owner by phone, email, Vrbo messaging for 6 weeks before trip. No response. Finally called Vrbo, they reached out, owner then said booking we had didn’t allow any changes. (But they were happy to change when we wanted to ADD time and pay them more money.) Arrived Monday morning, & because we already paid for Sat & Sun & couldn’t get refund, asked for access code on Sunday. They wanted security deposit first, but didn’t respond to questions about how to pay it. Meanwhile I found out they’re not supposed to charge a security deposit because Vrbo takes care of that. I told them that and got, “that’s correct, here’s the access code” - on Monday morning. No apology, no explanation. Finally, property did not match Vrbo description. Picture showed a spacious balcony with table & chairs. Actual “balcony” was about 12 inches wide. No way you could sit, let alone have table & chairs. There was a light fixture that was supposed to be IN the ceiling that was hanging down by wires. WiFi didn’t work. Bugs crawling up kitchen wall and on bed - had to spray to get rid of them. Would not recommend this place/owner to anyone. Vrbo should cut ties with them.
