Relaxing honeymoonstay at stunning boutique hotel
This was supposed to be the final night of our honeymoon (the Covid-19 pandemic meant we had to stay longer) but we're glad we could spend it at the stunning Kingslyn. The hostess is so lovely & accommodating and I loved so much about the decor. Highly recommend

Hübsches Guesthouse mit fantastischem Frühstück
Das Guesthouse ist gut gelegen und hübsch eingerichtet. Die Gastgeber und herzlich. Im Salon hat es div. Spielen und man kann sich an der kleinen Bar bedienen - einfach die Konsumation ausschreiben, total unkompliziert. Die Matratzen sind ziemlich hart, was wir persönlich viel lieber haben als Weiche/Durchgehangene. Das Frühstück ist phantastisch - viele frische Früchte Nähe Stadion und MuillePoint

Stop your search now, and stay here!
Kingslyn Guesthouse proves why you should ignore all the chain hotels in Cape Town and go with something locally owned. I stay in hotels around 100 nights per year, and by far, this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The big chain hotels will charge you for internet, charge you insane prices for wine and snacks, charge you for early check in and late check out, and of course, breakfast is only "free" for elite members. Not at Kingslyn. You get all of this for free and the rate is easily a half of the price of many of the hotel chains. The guesthouse is tastfully decorated, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious, and the owners of the guesthouse are extremely helpful and will make you feel taken care of. I can't recommend this guesthouse highly enough.

I appreciate all your comments and it is only a pleasure to look after independent travelers such as yourself who want a more personal experience than a chain hotel. Warm and welcoming
I was looking for a home from home for a brief stay in Cape Town to catch up with friends. I certainly found that from the warm welcome from the owner/manager Rachel to a very comfortable room and a delicious breakfast. I will definitely go back.

Super recomendo
Nós amamos ter ficado no Kingslyn. O local é ótimo e próximo dos pontos turísticos. Os quartos são amplos e aconchegantes. O café da manhã é uma delícia, tem o buffet exposto e itens oferecidos e preparados na hora!! Rachel and Adrian foram receptivos e muito atenciosos, estavam sempre a postos para nos ajudar.

Great little place!
Rachel and her staff are excellent; very friendly and welcoming. She is very helpful in helping you plan your day and getting information for you. The location is also excellent. A nice 15-20min walk to the V&A Waterfront. I would absolutely stay here again.

Cozy place to call home in Cape Town
Very comfortable place that easily feels like home. Managers Rachel and Adrian go out of their way to make everything right, and are excellent sources for local information of the area.

Cosy boutiqe guesthouse with good service
Very good location, rooms are big and clean. The guesthouse itself has a very good atmosphere, Owner and staff are very kind and helpful! You can also drink at the patio. And as an insider info: you should try the oyster happy hours between 5 and 6 at Seabreeze restaurant! :-)

Delightful guesthouse , vreat host great bfast!!
This is a delightful guesthouse with lovely big rooms. Everything was spotless and emphasis on comfort. There was a lovely communal lounge area with an honesty bar which we used at the end of the night and was very well Stocked!! Great hosts and a made to order hot breakfast. We travelled around by Ubers which were cheap and easy to get. Would definitely recommend this property

Super Lage und Ausgangspunkt
Wir hatten 5 schöne Tage in diesem kleinen Hotel. Das Frühstück war wirklich sehr lecker und ließ keine Wünsche offen. Parkplätze vorhanden und die Lage war ebenfalls super. Haben uns immer sicher gefühlt. Viele Restaurants und Supermärkte fußläufig zu erreichen. Wir können das Hotel wirklich weiterempfehlen.

The Perfect Stay
By far the best B&B I've ever stayed in. The room was huge with high ceilings, comfy bed, big bathroom, and super-clean. The service was wonderful and Rachel was very accommodating and helpful with things to do and where to go in the area. The location is in a really pretty and quiet neighbourhood and we actually walked to the V&A waterfront most times in about 20 minutes even though we had a car. Some small things that I really appreciated: water, still and sparkling every day you're there, fresh milk in the refrigerator for tea and coffee, and the wine fridge! It's a self service, honour system to be charged later system and was the best part of coming back in the evenings by far. The wines were really good and inexpensive too! Breakfast was well stocked and sitting in the conservatory was a really nice experience. We were there over Christmas and it was just lovely. If I had my own B&B I would want it to be like the Kingslyn. We will definitely be back.

Schmuck aber ultra ringhöriges Haus.
Ganz schönes Haus in gemütlichem Viertel, nahe dem Stadion und der Waterfront (zu Fuss 30min). Leider ist das Haus seeeehr ringhörig und man hört in der Nacht jeden Schritt oder das Husten vom Nachbarzimmer. Frühstück nichts besonderes, einfach und klein.

I am glad you enjoyed our great location in Cape Town. Breakfast we like to keep simple but good quality with delicious seasonal fresh fruits, cereals cold meat, cheeses, free range eggs cooked to your liking, fresh juices, speciality breads and a selection of teas and coffee. Being a beautiful old house there can sometimes be a little noise between rooms, but nothing I would describe as deafening.

Beautiful Central B&B
We arranged for Rachel to pick us up from the Airport and she was ready and waiting for us.The B&B itself was luxurious and spotless, a house filled with character. Our room was huge with a lovely shower room, all appointed to a high standard - huge,comfortable bed. Breakfast taken in the sun room, wonderful choice of fruits,cereal, yogurts, juices and your choice of cooked if required. Nothing too much trouble, would love to return.

Bra guesthouse. Ligger på en mindre gata, med det var ganska mycket trafik ändå. Lyhört. Störande ljud både inifrån hotellet och utifrån. Rachel gjorde dock att det blev en jättetrevlig vistelse. Fantastisk service på alla sätt och vis. Trädgården är liten, men det finns några bord, så man kan sitta ute.

Klein und fein
Wir haben 4 Nächte hier verbracht und waren ausgesprochen zufrieden. Der Service war überragend und die Tipps der Gastgeber Gold wert. Die Lage zur Warerfront ist gut - ca. 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß. Wir werden dieses Guesthouse garantiert weiterempfehlen und sollte es uns wieder nach Kapstadt verschlagen, kommen wir gerne wieder.

Perfekte Betreuung; tolles Frühstück; gute Lage
B&B ist sehr gepflegt, die Managerin Birgit (aus Österreich) kümmert sich perfekt um alles,was man braucht (Tips, Reservierungen, Ticktets...), das Frühstück ist sehr gut (auch mal wieder Semmeln, wurst und Käse...)

In Kapstadt "im Regen stehen lassen"
Es handelt sich um ein Guest House, wie in Südafrika typisch. Nach Buchung hatten wir per Email eine Buchungsbestätigung erhalten, zugleich mit dem Hinweis, dass die Hälfte der Übernachtungskosten zur Garantierung der Buchung bereits der Kreditkarte belastet wurden. Wir reisten am Anreisetag um ca. 14.00 Uhr und damit innerhalb des Zeitrahmens an, in welchem jemand vor Ort sein sollte. Auf unser Klingeln öffnete niemand. Wir warten sodann fast eine Stunde, klingelten immer wieder Sturm, so dass die Nachbarn bereits aufmerksam wurden (da auch am Tor lauter Klingelton). Aber niemand öffnete. Wir riefen mehrfach die auf der Bestätigung genannte Rufnummer an (inhaltsgleich am Tor hängend), die Rufnummer war aber temporär nicht erreichbar (wohl Umleitung auf Handy). Etwas hilflos danach, machten wir einen Abstecher zur Waterfront, versuchten von dort mehrfach jemanden telefonisch zu erreichen, ließen fürsorglich sogar vom besuchten Restaurant jemanden anrufen, aber immer das gleiche Ergebnis: Rufnummer temporär nicht erreichbar. Wir kehrten um ca. 16.30 Uhr wieder zurück, niemand öffnete. Letztendlich gaben wir auf und buchten uns woanders ein, nachdem wir einen Internetzugang aufgetrieben haben. Abends versuchten wir nochmals jemanden tel. zu erreichen, aber gleiches Ergebnis. Es sendeten sodann eine Email an das Guest House, die aber bis heute unbeantwortet blieb. Keinerlei Reaktion. Vor diesem Hintergrund bleibt nur die schlechteste Bewertung für dieses Guest House. So etwas darf einfach nicht passieren. Für uns war die Situation noch lösbar, da wir schon einmal in Kapstadt waren, ein WLAN-Gerät hatten und wussten, wo wir ins Internet kommen, um ein anderes Guest House noch zu buchen, was möglich war, da nicht Hochsaison. Letztendlich hätten wir sogar noch Verständnis gehabt, wenn auf unsere Email eine Reaktion erfolgt wäre und alles erklärt worden wäre; Notfälle können immer eintreten. Aber dass noch nicht einmal auf unsere Email irgendeine Reaktion kam, bleibt uns vollkommen unverständlich. Die Sache bleibt uns vor allem deshalb komplett unverständlich, da das Guest House sehr gut bewertet wurde.

Ein sehr gut geführtes Gästehaus in zentraler Lage!
Wir verbrachten im Kingslyn Gästehaus unsere letzten Urlaubstage. Die Betten (Matraze und Kissen) , die Dusche und das Frühstück waren super . Die Leiterin des Hauses (deutschsprachig) und das ganze Personal waren sehe lobenswert zu erwähnen.Wir können dieses im Kolonialen Stil gebaute Haus jederzeit, jedem weiterempfehlen.
