Charging for parking for a crumby hotel in the middle of nowhere is price gouging of the highest order. It’s an obscenity honestly. What a dump. I hate this place.

The staff at this hotel were efficient and handled requests promptly, which we appreciated. However, the overall condition of the hotel left much to be desired. Our first room had visible mould in the toilet, which was concerning. We requested a room change, and to the staff’s credit, this was done quickly. Unfortunately, the second room had a faulty sink, which added to the sense that the hotel is in need of better maintenance. While the service was decent, the quality of the facilities did not meet expectations.

Staff service was beyond amazing, especially help with drinks and food after hours. The room was clean and fresh and beds are comfortable. The only negative is that the room had no air conditioning and we were there over the weekend thats just seen 30° days and still hot nights. The fan provided just simply wasn't enough to cool the room even slightly. As a result I had probably the worst 2 nights sleep of my life. However we all knkw the british weather is a fickle thing so my stay may have been different under different temperatures.

Not up to Expectation!

The rooms do not have a refrigerator or iron and ironing board! 1 of the bar staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Had to pay for overnight parking which is NOT properly stated when making and paying for your booking.

Very disappointing: 1. Poo stains on towel, not been cleaned we were shocked and I have a picture as evidence. We asked a cleaner for another towel which never came therefore we shared 1 towel during our stay! 2. No telephone number in room for reception 3. We asked reception face to face 2x for an iron and ironing board which didn’t come within the hour. We then asked the cleaning team who provided the iron/ iron board but tutted when we asked as if it was a major inconvenience for them. 4. The Iron was cheap, in poor condition and clearly needs to be replaced 5. No alcohol the bar at all (rough time 1430) I asked for a pint and the bar man (Moses) said ‘system is down’ I asked if that was for all draft pumps which he replied ‘yes’, he didn’t give any other info. I then asked for 2 drinks from the fridge which were fine. 6. In return after event the bar was still not serving alcohol and had hardly anything left in the fridges. The barman was more helpful but he was struggling to find glasses for our drinks it wasn’t great service at all. There was also dirty dishes stacked behind the bar again very messy not professional 7. The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable, we only had 2 pillows in our room so 1 each. Need more pillows please, shame because the mattress was very comfortable In all honesty it was very disappointing, I thought the Mercure had a good reputation but the fact we paid over £250 for the room without breakfast is disgraceful.

Booked 2 rooms- they could only find a reservation for 1 !! The one room we did get in had a toilet that was leaking water all over the floor.

Disappointing service

Poor and disorganised service from staff. Waited around 30 minutes to be served in restaurant. Poor water pressure in bathroom, and intermittent hot water in shower. Noisy ventilation system and dripping noise which continued throughout the night.
