We loved the spacious rooms. Free bottle of water was a nice gesture. The rooms are nice and quiet - beds and pillows very comfortable. Bathrooms could possibly benefit from some updates - looking a little tired. Breakfast was good value for money - plenty of choice and nice food. Bar area is lovely - great wine list! All the staff we encountered during our stay were friendly and super helpful. Highly recommend a stay here

The hotel was in a good central location close to the castle and various bars and restaurants as well as the main shopping precinct. All the staff we spoke to were very polite and helpful. The pool, steam room and jucuzzi were a good size and very clean. The hotel bar and associated external terrace was a nice place to relax and the bar prices were quite reasonable for a city centre hotel. We did not eat dinner at the hotel but the breakfast was a good standard. There is no parking at the hotel but there are several multi-storey car parks near by ranging in price from £26-£35 for 24hrs at the time of our visit.

If you are visiting Cardiff I highly recommend staying at the Park Plaza in Cardiff. Efficient and smooth check-in. Spacious comfortable rooms, with beds that are so comfortable, sleep is no problem at all! Peaceful too. Great choice at breakfast, with a check-out time of midday that allows you to go for a swim in the fabulous pool, enjoy the jacuzzi and the steam room. The perfect start to any day. Great location, right by Cardiff Castle & everything Cardiff has to offer. Don't forget your swimmers!

The spa area was one of the cleanest I’ve used in a hotel for a long time, which was a real highlight. Breakfast was tasty, and the staff were generally very friendly and welcoming. A couple of things did let the stay down, though. Our room wasn’t ready by the 3pm check-in time, and unfortunately the parking discount is no longer available. I also found one particular lady on the front desk to be quite sharp in her manner, which could have been handled a little more warmly. Overall, there were some lovely aspects to the stay, but a few areas that could be improved.

Very comfortable stay. Bathroom was well designed with (very rare for the UK) a powerful shower. The bedroom was a little stuffy as we were unable to open any windows, the ac was fine. Breakfast was fine, not sure why more seasonal fruit is not available but that still seems to be the norm nowadays. Swimming pool was a plus. Overall a very good hotel.

I’ve been staying at this hotel since 2010, and it’s always been our go‑to place when visiting Cardiff. We’ve loved it for so long that even our now 11 year old looks forward to staying here. The staff are consistently helpful, the location is ideal, and the facilities have always contributed to a really enjoyable stay. However, this is the first visit where I’ve felt the hotel is overdue for a refurbishment. The rooms and bathrooms are showing their age, and the spa facilities in particular need attention. The changing rooms look very tired, and the rainfall shower experience is barely functioning. One additional point, although not the hotel’s fault, is the walk from the city centre. The area now has a large number of homeless individuals, and while I understand the complexity of the issue, it did make the walk back feel uncomfortable when I was alone with my son in the late evening.
