Carlsbad Getaway - Spacious and new!

This beautiful Carlsbad home is the perfect place to escape and unwind, or entertain and play. With five bedrooms, including a bunk room, large living and dining room, brand new kitchen, and a backyard with hot tub and fire pit that is perfect for entertaining, you may never want to leave. But if you do venture out, we are located in the perfect spot tucked away on a private street with cul-de-sac, within walking distance to the beach, a short bike ride or drive to the downtown Carlsbad village, and great freeway access.
This home has been completely remodeled specifically designed to accommodate our guests. The downstairs living space is open and spacious with large windows that let in great natural light, with sightlines from the entry to the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The kitchen has been completely remodeled with beautiful countertops, new cabinets, and new appliances.
The downstairs bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, including the bunk room that comfortably sleeps six, and two other private bedrooms.
To access the upstairs, guests will have access two more bedrooms through the backyard, making it an ideal quiet space for working, young children who need rest, or adults who need a little more privacy, or for teens who want to stay up a little later. The primary bedroom has a King bed, and the second bedroom has a pull-out, queen sofa bed.
The backyard has a large table and outdoor seating, with a brand new hot tub for you to enjoy. The side yard also features an enclosed laundry room and an outdoor shower.
There is plenty of parking with two cars that fit comfortably in the driveway, and additional street parking in front of the house.
This home is one of the few large homes with air conditioning, making for a comfortable stay.
Although this home is located near the train tracks, we have installed double pane windows and additional sound-minimizing measures to help reduce the noise, but please know that these preventive measures do not sound proof the home. Children who stay at the home may even enjoy the sights and sounds of the occasional train.

The house and the location were great! We enjoyed our vacation overall. The house is along railroad tracks, which was disclosed and can be loud at night. A neighbor who lives behind the house rang the doorbell at night and asked if her package was delivered. It appears someone stole her package from our porch. We enjoyed the stay and would return. This house is in a great location and walkable to the beach and a short bike ride to Carlsbad Village. We vacation in Carlsbad each summer and we really enjoyed this rental. The kids room with bunk beds is perfect and we enjoyed time in the backyard and hot tub. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. The location is what makes it great. Yes, the train is loud but it goes by quickly and you kind of ignore it after time. The upstairs room is nice but the shower is what I would call “cruise ship” style and super small. There are two A/C vents that come from the downstairs but they really don’t cool down the upstairs. We kept the windows open and fans on and it was fine. The one thing to note is that there is a shared side gate and pathway to a home behind the rental with someone that lives there. It’s a bit strange but you should know that in advance. We would rent this property again.

Everything was perfect. Very accommodating for a large group. The loft had great space for our daughter and her little family. The train was loud but stopped in the evening. On the last day we learned we could have road it into Oceanside beach. And the distance is great from the beach if you're not bringing anything with you. We enjoyed every day spent there. Thank you

We enjoyed our stay and the home was very clean and a great location. The only issue was the parking. There are two long term rentals on the property and they made entering and exiting the driveway difficult. They parked right up to the edges of the driveway and sometimes even encroached the driveway.

Great spring break staycation

We are local to San Diego, but wanted to do a little staycation for spring break near the beach. This spot was perfect 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach, restaurants nearby, and grocery stores too. Tons of space. The owner was super helpful when we were having trouble with the Internet and even came down to take care of it herself. We would definitely rent again.

House spacious and comfortable, kitchen well stocked for cooking, plenty of room for five older women. Had a little trouble with code entry, TV Internet & hot tub but owner came personally and helped us. Suggestion, book of ‘need to knows’ in house would really help.

The house is exactly what it is advertised to be. Clean and comfortable. If you are renting to go to a marine corps graduation This is about a 40 minute drive. The drive back after was just over an hour. I didnt understand Pendalton and Mcrd is different. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Is a very spacious set up with the rooms and outside sitting area with a hot tub and front porch to chill for a morning coffee. You are walking distance to the beach and very close to downtown Carlsbad. The train bothers you at first night, but you get used to it quickly and really is no issue. We enjoyed our stay!

Was a great place for us!

We had a group of 11 ages 5-70. This place was perfect for what we were wanting. Plenty of room and close to the beach. The train was a novelty for our group and enjoyed the atmosphere with it. Management was a breeze to work with and responded quickly. We will be back.

Read about the property carefully before booking

Overall, I was frustrated about this property, because at the time we booked it, the listing was new and NOT very accurate. Some clarifications: 1) the "loft": actually a separate upstairs apartment that you must walk out the back door, up a staircase and enter in a code to access. This is where the king bed was, meaning it is separate from the main house. 2) Commuter train: When we booked, there was no mention of the train, which has been corrected. This train runs until ~12am and starts up again ~5am and if anyone is walking or driving near the tracks, the train sounds its horn. 3 of the 4 bedrooms were at the front of the house, closest to the tracks and you can hear the train horn very well. 3) washers/dryers are outside behind the gait to the house and are shared with units located behind the house as well. 4) there is no garage, pic is misleading. The garage was actually converted into the bedroom with the bunk beds. Other issues: 1) there was no toilet paper and host said she would bring some over but never did 2) hot tub water was green and disgusting. However, host got tech out the next day and it was remedied. 3) no curtains on the windows, just blinds (not blackouts). 4) no privacy curtains on the giant patio door 5) no boxes of tissues anywhere 6) beds uncomfortable, linens old and dingy and/or dirty Positives: 1) 10 min walk to Tamarack beach 2) there were beach accessories to use 3) convenient grocery store near
