Great and cozy place to stay

My family and I had a great winter stay at Jeff's Mountain Chalet. The house has all of the amenities you will need for a mini vacation. It was clean, cozy, and close to all of the premium ski resorts in the area. The host were very responsive to all of my questions prior and during our stay. Oh! The jacuzzi was just an icing on the cake! We loved our stay and look forward to staying here in the future. Thank you!

Dog friendly house in Carnelian Bay

This house is great for a family of 4. The kitchen and dining area are spacious. The kitchen comes with all the amenities, including a toaster, toaster oven, ice maker, and both a coffee maker and espresso machine. The bedrooms are comfortable and the master bedroom is huge with a decent amount of natural light. One of the biggest perks of the house is the spacious deck and the large hot tub. The house is a bit on the pricey side, but it is dog-friendly and we had a great time overall.

Exceeded expectations

This place was a great Tahoe cabin. It was clean and functional and had a huge garage which was great for our group because we had a ton of mountain bikes. The toilets reminded us of the toilets you'd see at a preschool... they were tiny! Also the bathrooms were carpeted which is a little gross. Overall though the place was nicer than we thought it would be.

Good location

Excellent location. Extra sleeping spaces (loft) are awkward. Living area configuration is a bit awkward too (sunken area with sofa). Heat does not distribute well through the place (one upstairs room too hot, one too cold). WiFi does not work well all the time. As a result, the place is a bit overpriced for what it offers. We still had a good time there.

My family had a wonderful stay. It was our first time renting a Tahoe home. There were all the amenities that you need when you are away from home. We all agree that the carpet in the bathrooms should come out! Since the living room is sunken in, they should make sure the chair is backed up to close the gap. If you're gonna have a “no shoes”policy, the carpets should be cleaner. There were a lot of spots. The downstairs bedroom was perfect for my mom so she didn't have to climb the stairs. The location was great! The views out the windows are soothing. You're close to Tahoe City for shopping. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Tahoe getaways staff were so kind too. Thank you! “I'll be back!”

Terrible house. Really poorly equipped. Hardly blankets that for on bed. No toilet paper to speak of on arrival. Fireplace didn't work. I could go on but not worth my time. Trying to forget worse Tahoe trip evet

Great house for summer stay w tall ceilings

The common areas of the house were really nice. The master bedroom was gorgeous, with its own private balcony. The loft area was like a second living room, but best for kids to hang out in with an angled low ceiling. Overall a really comfortable place to stay. We would have liked the hot tub to be significantly hotter, and couldn't find any kind of temperature control. The mattresses were also fairly hard, but not bad. The house is a very short drive from the lake, but a good 40 minute drive to the gorgeous beaches that we went to.

Adventurous and dated

This property has not been updated in about 25-30 years and it shows. It needs some much needed repairs especially to the deck area- would not recommend this property if you have small children-the deck is not a safe place to play. The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and peaceful but the houses are close together. Dogs are welcome which is a plus

Review on Jeff's Mountain Chalet

Dear Tahoe Getaways, First I wanted to say thank you for a safe stay in Lake Tahoe. We have been coming up every year for the past 20 years and it's our favorite place on the planet. A few things I wanted to share about our trip to Jeff's Mountain Chalet on this visit. I also want you to know we have a vacation rental of our own we rent out and make sure our visitors have the best experience ever no matter what conditions we are experiencing. We want our guests to return and have a memorable experience when they stay at our property. I understand the COVID 19 guidelines have restrictions you need to follow, but we were surprised the house was not furnished with enough essentials for our stay and we were very disappointed. The house had a ½ a roll of paper towels and no additional rolls. We also ran out of toilet paper during our stay and had to purchase both. In the past, the other homes we rented had reserves of both items. The vacuum cleaner was filled with dirt and no one could come to the clean it out for us, shame on you! We eat all our meals in and the kitchen had the most beat-up pots/pans/bowls and just a hodge-podge of leftover items to use. It was pathetic and a disappointment since we were paying $400.00 a night. I took photos of the cobwebs hanging from the kitchen lights and in the corners of the kitchen, which made me feel that the house was not really cleaned. My husband had to scrub the cutting board which was sticky when we touched it. I would have hoped that because of the tight regulations of COVID 19 the house would be stocked nicely for the guests. Since we do watch TV in the evenings, being subject to only one in the house was a surprise to us. It was so small in size that it was not enjoyable to watch. When I called about the spa being too hot, above 102 from our reading on the register the only response was, the lid was probably closed and it was very hot outside which brought the temp up. We would have liked someone to check it out for us. We may have higher expectations than other people, but we have been renting houses in Lake Tahoe for the last 15 years and before that stayed at Rustic Cabins for years and have never been disappointed. Wishing the experience was better.

Early December Weekend Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed Jeff's Mountain Chalet during our weekend stay. Myself, my partner and our 2 dogs arrived late Friday night. Everything was ready for us. The cabin was clean and well-appointed. We brought towels and toiletries but we appreciated that there were also some available for us to use. There was no fenced-in area for our dogs so we had to take them on the leash every time they needed to go out. I wish I'd asked about that ahead of time. The downstairs bedroom bed was not to our liking but the master bedroom bed was very nice. The hot tub was heavenly and I wish I'd been able to enjoy it more than once but we did put in a solid 30 minutes. The kitchen was huge and had everything we needed. We spent must of our time in the sunken living room although the front door with the inlaid windows weirded me out and had me looking over my shoulder all the time. Overall a great experience, great stay and we would definitely go back.

This is a very quiet street with practically no traffic. We had two very small children with us which was challenging but not impossible. The balcony and deck railings are not kid friendly. Upon our departure we realized we left some clothes in the house. Tahoe Getaways said they checked the property and found nothing. Which leads me to believe that either the cleaning team, Tahoe Getaways, or the people who stayed there after us took our clothes. Whatever happened, it sucks that the clothes never turned up and someone feels good about their decision to take something that didn't belong to them.
