「Absolute gem on the edge of.downtown. super walkable everywhere in terms of shopping, and within a 5 min drive to less pricier food options away from downtown. Jessica was an amazing and gracious host. The oatmeal with maple syrup, apples and walnuts was the quintessential Vermont start to the day. So many unique touches in terms of aesthetics made it feel homey yet held to the character of a nearly 200 year old home. Stay here.」

「We ended up staying at On the river after we failed to spend the night at our Airbnb. There was a F1 tornado that hit the Woodstock area the night before and there was no electricity. Anyway, the hotel sits on a lovely spot and their grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed their breakfast and hot tub/pool area. I can’t give this place a 5 star rating for the following reasons. It is a pet friendly hotel which we love because we our pet lovers. However, the carpet in our room smelt like dog pee....

「This place is adorable. It's a beautiful location - just gorgeous. Staff was lovely, and we enjoyed the sauna and hot tub on site. Hot breakfast was good, and we liked the fresh cookies that were available during the day, along with the coffee and hot cocoa. Didn't use the smores station but was intrigued by it. Only complaint was the barn door on the bathroom wouldn't stay closed (so we just used a pillow to keep it shut), but we would definitely stay here again.」
