We booked the family suite apartment. Warning: DON'T. it's off the main building, there was no hot water, and the A/C was this rattling noisy window unit that was barely able to keep up. We moved to a small single room for the 4 of us as it was the ONLY room left in the whole hotel. We were promised a credit on our bill but alas it never came.

We had a river view suite. Trouble was you couldn’t see the river. There was to much undergrowth and trees, so you couldn’t tell there was a river there. The view from our balcony was beautiful, out onto the large lawn and a small pond. The TVs are old, so you couldn’t stream. Make sure you tell the front desk or put out your door hanger or you won’t get your room refreshed. The bar seemed open only during dinner hours. During our stay, one night the chief was “out” and they only served burgers. Breakfast was around $18, we never went down. Our room was large and bathroom adequate. It’s a 10 minute drive to town. It’a satisfactory hotel, but not worth the price.

It’s over priced for a hotel requires us to drive to Woodstock and its restaurants and amenities. Although it was not full we were allocated a room at far end of the hotel where WiFi was poor and the room was a bit smaller because stairway next to the room took out part of the space.The pool and sauna were good and clean. The facility was overpriced for what it offered. We couldn’t find food or even a coffee. Our room was clean but not even a bottle of water. We requested an ironing board but by the time they responded it was too late. The shower curtain didn’t fit the shower and the bath tub was broken. The hair dryer smelled like fire. If you need a gym forget it. There is one treadmill, some weights and a bike. Definitely better options out there for less. Also the check in person was very unwelcoming.

The staff were very kind and attentive to my needs. The breakfast was outstanding. The luggage carts were old and difficult to push due to the wheels being worn out. Hot tub jets not really working and no river view from balcony as lead to believe. I was expecting more for the price but overall a nice place to stay for the night.

This was one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in! We had a river view room with rocking chairs on the balcony, s’mores kits were offered every night (pick up by the front desk) and 2 fire pits to choose from. Game room was cute (although the air hockey table’s fan wasn’t strong on one side), library was absolutely gorgeous. Loved having water refilling stations on 2 of the 3 floors and 24/7 coffee/tea stations, too. Queen beds were very comfy, and the room was so spacious. I’d love another piece of furniture with drawers to keep our stuff though - we lived out of our suitcases because there was only an armoire with 3 half drawers. And maybe another towel bar or hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels to dry, especially if you have 4 people in a room. Breakfast buffet (included with our Expedia stay but extra for others) was always hot & fresh. We had 4 breakfasts: French toast, pancakes, waffles, french toast again. There was always fresh homemade pastries and muffins, yogurt, and oatmeal. I would have loved some fresh fruit like berries to go with the yogurt instead of apples and oranges. Staff was always so nice and helpful, especially at breakfast. Housekeeping forgot twice to give us the 4 fresh towels (gave 3 instead) but we got replacements when we asked at the desk.

This place was set up even better than I expected. With nature right outside the door, it was so relaxing and stress-free, and the overall atmosphere was elegant and beautiful. Staff members are very friendly, too. The only thing was that the mattress was a bit too soft, which gave me a backache.

I had high hopes for this hotel and was disappointed. The staff was not friendly or helpful, and the beds were hard and the pillows were terrible. My pillow was like trying to sleep on a hard, thick, rubber block. I tried several different pillows, and they were all the same. I resorted to sleeping on my rolled up fleece. I didn't get much sleep and woke up sore. Also, we could not see the river from our "river view."

Our room was surprisingly spartan. For a three day stay, there were two washcloths, two hand towels. Tiles in the bathroom were missing in places, broken in others. The carpeting was worm. Housekeeping had left a filthy rag in the bathtub. There was no hand or body lotion in the bathroom. We just completed a two month, ten thousand mile roadtrip with a dog. We stayed in places all along the way,Hampton Inns, ComfortInns, LaQuintas. All of which offered us more towels, free breakfasts,lotion …I expected this to be a bit more luxe.it wasn’t. Our room did have a nice balcony with rockers and filtered water and a Keurig coffeemaker were available in the hallway. I would not chose to stay here again.

It was a pleasure to stay at On the River. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening watching the moon rise. The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. I would certainly stay there again.
