Welcome to Saint Philip Square, an award-winning collection of historic homes spanning nearly one city block in downtown Charleston. The Adams Bennett House at 6A Saint Philip Street is a 3-bed 3-bath gem blending modern comfort with Charleston’s rich history just one block from King St. Recognized with 5 Carolopolis Awards and the SC Governor’s Award for Historic Restoration, this grand retreat offers a premier location perfect for families or groups seeking an authentic Charleston experience.


Bedroom 1 – Queen size four poster rice bed with end tables, ensuite bath, chair rail and period cornice plaster moldings, original carved mantel and fireplace with antique brass and iron, comfortable sofa, and flat screen TV.
Bedroom 2 – Custom-made king bed, ensuite bath, nautically inspired accessories, diagrams, navigation instruments, exposed overhead beams, and flat screen TV.
Bedroom 3 – Custom-made king bed, ensuite bath, exposed heart pine ceiling beams, day bed/sofa, flat screen TV, bookcases, and built in storage cabinets.

Kitchen - Designed for entertaining, roomy and fully stocked with modern appliances, beautiful double wide peninsula counters provide gracious serving possibilities, range hood, charming antique coffee bar with combination Keurig pod/pot coffee machine and separate bar sink, and all the small electronic gadgets.

This is not a typical short-term rental; it is not a renovated dependency or a newly constructed unit in an old neighborhood, nor is it situated on a tiny lot in a questionable or remote area. The old hardwood floors, tall ceilings, original moldings, plasterwork, windows, and doors exude a special warmth, character, and charm that is very difficult to achieve in new construction. The exterior copper roof and guttering provide additional warmth and character. It's the real deal!

- Access to The Wonderer, an exclusive adult-only resort downtown Charleston 2.6 miles away from Saint Philip Square (guests 25+ only; no one under 21 permitted at the pool).

Management communicated clearly with us plenty before getting there and then when we were there I had a couple of minor questions that they answered right away! The house was clean and well stocked. It was the perfect location downtown and most attractions were within a short walk. It was a longer walk to the waterfront but that was not a problem for us. We really enjoyed our time there! The porch was great!

Our party of 6 was looking for a great place to stay together to experience the heart of downtown Charleston. This place was perfect with all it's updated amenities while still maintaining it's Southern Charm. Very clean, well supplied kitchen and bathroom necessities. Walking distance to all the action on King St. Host was very responsive. Would recommend this place. Stayed at 176a.

This was our third stay at St. Philips Square. Our unit was the perfect gathering place for visiting family during our Charleston stay. The comfortable porch where we took our coffee to start the day, the living room, and the huge kitchen, with everything we could possible need was wonderful. The bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, were beautifully decorated and the beds and pillows ensured we slept soundly after long days. The entire property is a beautiful haven in a busy city.

Conveniently located near shopping and restaurants, clean, well stocked coffee bar, nice wine glasses, aesthetically pleasing with updates without sacrificing character, good parking, and very comfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Charleston with our daughter and son in law for a few days of relaxation after Christmas.
