The place was great. We did so much running around, that didn't have much time to walk around and enjoy the location. The cottage was well furnished and very clean. So very quiet.
Beautiful, peaceful stay listening to the water and watching the colorful leaves fall. Plenty of wood around on walks to build a fire. Coyotes howling in the mountains was a first for us! Hosts are very sweet.
We stay here at least once, sometimes twice, each year. As always, the house was clean and comfortable, communication with the hosts was great, and the location is amazing.
This was our 2nd stay at Hawks View on the banks of the beautiful North Fork of the Tye River. The setting is so relaxing and peaceful.
The cabin is fabulous and everything you need for a comfortable stay awaits you.
We have friends stay there for extra space when visiting our cabin, and they always love it. From the area attractions, to the wonderful deck, views of the river, and wonderful furnishings it always pleases. We are so lucky to have it nearby.
This is our second visit to Hawks View and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is always very clean and inviting. Thank you so much for providing us with an enjoyable weekend to unwind and escape.
The best little get away so relaxing listening to the stream didn't want to leave but the weather was gonna start getting bad so decided to just go back to our busy life's thank you so much for having this cabin for us very beautiful

Loved the remoteness of this property and the river in the back yard! Slept while listening to the rushing water. Beautiful drive around the mountain and plenty of hiking nearby. Property was clean and cozy. Great hosts!
I brought my SO here for a little surprise weekend to celebrate her birthday. Absolutely amazing cabin and awesome secluded location. The cabin was clean and spacious and more than we expected. Listening to the river outside while we unwound from reality was the perfect touch. We’ll definitely be returning!
We can't express enough how much we enjoyed our stay at hawksview. Our hosts, Kenneth and Margaret are always so wonderful and the places that we've rented from them are always impeccably clean and well kept. Location is great, and we always enjoy going down to the stream. This was our first visit in cooler weather so we enjoyed the fireplace immensely. We are looking forward to a return visit very soon.
Hawk's Nest Cabin was very clean, well furnished and the location is near lots to do. We hiked to the falls at St. Mary's Wilderness and through the Blue Ridge Tunnel, and shopped at the Farmers'Market and Apple Stands/Stores. Loved hearing the stream flowing by and the breeze blowing through the trees as I sat on the side deck drinking coffee.
We have stayed here many times and we always enjoy this property. It has a large deck overlooking the North Fork of the Tye River. Hiking downto the river you find a hidden treasure! The cabin itself is very clean and well equipped for our stay, including a washer/dryer. Looking forward to our next stay. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and even called during our stay to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay.
Kenneth and Margaret are wonderful. Our first evening She called to check and see if we needed anything (of course the cabin had everything we could ever need). Everything was very clean and comfortable. We loved having coffee in the morning on the deck overlooking the rushing stream. All was peaceful and beautiful. We will definitely be renting here again.
The sound of the rolling river through the property made it all worth while. My wife and I both enjoyed the opportunity to unplug(very remote location) and just sit out on the deck and talk, play games or do nothing. We hiked up Crabtree Falls and it was beautiful. Just a relaxing, enjoyable couple of days for us. We would definitely come back.
Our stay in this cabin along the mountain stream was incredible. There is a fabulous view of the river out of almost every window and sitting out on the deck was a true mountain experience. The strategically placed lights you can turn on facing the river so you can even see the view at night was such a nice and well thought out touch. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and decorated so cozy it made us want to enjoy the indoors as much as the outdoors during our stay. The owners were delightful to communicate with and were very accommodating and kind. We love to stay in new places when we travel, but we will definitely be returning to this cabin on an annual basis, God willing. Oh- and the location..10/10. This place checks all the boxes.
The cabin was spotless and cozy. It had everything we needed for our stay. Being so close to the river was a terrific treat. Would recommend. Will plan to return.
