"It seems that the hotel is undergoing an extensive renovation (that we were not aware of in advance). The common areas were in good condition and the carpets and wall coverings in the rooms are new. In our room at least there was no artwork of any kind or anything else on the walls which made it feel like we were in a renovation. The lighting in the rooms was a mixture of cold and warm tones, but new blinds and blackout blinds worked well.
Wall mounted dispensers for the shower soap and shampoo would be easier than bottles balanced on the edge of the tub but quality is excellent. One of the light switches by the bed appears to have been broken as it did not move.
I am not sure if it was a hotel or and Expedia issue but I was kind of disappointed that after booking our room for the “best possible rate” of $215 plus taxes a couple of weeks later the same room was offered at $177 plus taxes but we were not offered the lower rate.
In any event the beds were excellent and the linens lovely and we had a great sleep! Look forward to seeing once all the renovations have been completed."
