We hadn’t been to Phuket for many years so weren’t sure how much it had changed. We wanted somewhere quiet, away from loud nightlife but within easy reach of a beach. The Lanterns looked perfect: spacious, elegant, well kept and with a very good-sized pool. We booked for a week.The admin via Vrbo and the owner was handled very efficiently, with plentiful and accurate information about check-in and location. Airport pickup is offered, but we hired a car and there was plenty of undercover parking.The Lanterns is in a very peaceful development of about eight villas and we hardly saw anyone else. We were greeted by the wonderful housekeeper, Khun Sa — what a delight. She spoke good English and had worked at the villa for many years, living locally and knowing everything about the area. She recommended and booked restaurants, advised on beaches, shops and markets, and was also an excellent cook. She made us a delicious Pad Thai lunch one day.I enjoy cooking, so she told us about the best fresh markets and I cooked for five of our seven nights in the very well-equipped kitchen. The villa was beautifully appointed and maintained, spotless, and the pool was excellent. Khun Sa was always respectful of our privacy, asking when it suited us best to clean and keeping out of our way. She truly was a delight.Thank you Fiona and Khun Sa — your villa and service were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit toll angelegtem Pool mit Garten. Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche. Es war ein toller Aufenthalt durch die perfekte Betreuung von Sa. Restaurantbuchung, Motor bike Bestellung, besondere liebevoll bereitete Frühstücksvariationen liessen keine Wünsche offen. Nochmal herzlichen Dank an Sa.

We stayed for 10 days and we loved every minute of it. The accomodation was just as luxurious as the pictures and Khun Sa the housekeeper was ever so helpful in looking after us. Definitely a place to visit and stay if you want a first class experience in Phuket.

This was a beautiful stay at a beautiful property. We stayed almost 3 weeks in August and had a fabulous holiday. Our main aim was to relax and soak up the culture. Sa, our housekeeper was a highlight of our stay. She couldn’t have been more helpful. Her cooking was delicious. We had a beautiful trip to the Blue Elephant for a celebration lunch. It was lovely. But not as delicious, fresh and varied as our special anniversary meal that Sa cooked for us. The pool was lovely and the lanai relaxing and special. A lovely stay.

Fabulous villa holiday in beautiful Phuket

Wow! What an incredible 9 days in this wonderful villa, within walking distance to both Surin & BangTao beaches.Everything about the villa, the organisation, the rooms, the communication from our host and the wonderful housekeeping service was designed to make this the best family holiday we’ve been on.Khun Sa the housekeeper is an absolute gem who made the stay so relaxing and perfect. She was incredibly helpful without being intrusive and her home cooked Thai meals (we booked her for dinner at the villa twice during our stay) and beautifully prepared breakfasts were the best meals we had during our 2 week trip to Thailand.I couldn’t recommend this villa enough!Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!

Urlaub im Paradies

Wir waren eine Woche in der Villa und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Die Unterkunft ist wirklich ein Traum, wunderschöner tropischer Garten mit sehr schönem großen Pool. Die Haushälterin Sa ist super lieb und hilfsbereit, hat immer auch sehr gute Tipps was essen, Ausflüge etc. angeht und kümmert sich prima um die Gäste und sämtliche organisatorische Sachen. Eine sehr herzliche Person! In unmittelbarer Nähe sind zahlreiche Restaurants, Supermärkte und BangTao sowie der Surin Beach.

Great Villa

As everyone says what makes staying here is Sa. She takes care of your every need from cooking fabulous meals, helping with transportation, reservations, and keeping the villa clean. Our teens loved just hanging out at the pool. It’s like having a private resort. It’s a fairly easy walk to Surun Beach but not walkable to the sandy part of Bang Tao. The owner responds to questions quickly.

The Lanterns villa located on the west coast of Phuket has recieved many positive reviews before, deservedly so. What really makes this property standout from all the rest is the wonderful housekeeper Khun-Sa. It's been stated many times before but she just makes the stay all the more special and we can't thank her enough. Not much more I can add to this review other than to say that if you've booked (or are about to book) have a fabulous time, we certainly did.

Paradise Found

I write this review with a selfish reluctance that it will make this dream property even more difficult to book in the future, yet with a string sense of obligation to the owners and host!The property is everything it promises to be and more! Pictures do not do it justice. It is immaculately maintained in like new condition as are all of the furniture and fittings. It is well stocked with towels and all necessary toiletries and amenities. Communication with the owner is exemplary and any issues are handled immediately to complete satisfaction.That said there is one thing that must not be neglected in this review. The property itself is not even close to being the star of the show! Houskeeper, Chef, Tour Guide, Shopper, and Butler Sa is a joyful spirit, with a can-do attitude who anticipates needs before they exist! In 45 years of 5 Star worldwide travel my family and I have never encountered such a TREASURE! Sa is a loving heart, with a radiant smile, who finds great joy in pleasing. She made our entire stay relaxing, stress free, and kept us organized, on schedule, and very well fed!!We can't wait to return....

Oasis of peace. Za is the hit, 5 star. What they are doing with Phuket in general is bad( everywhere construction, it seems that every green spot is being build on ) but here you have a spot where you can relax. Thanks so much for all.

What a gem

We stayed at this villa for a week, and it was absolutely fabulous. Khun sa who is the housekeeper is absolutely AMAZING. She was able to help get a scooter set up as well as many excursions and adventures during our stay. Would highly recommend.

We went for the villa but got so much more

First timers in thailand. We had no clue how to navigate our trip even with all of our preparation. It was intimidating. Khun Sa to the rescue!! She took such good care of us everything from setting up a ride to 7 eleven, booking tours, cooking the most amazing meals, or just making us laugh. The villa is beautiful, Khun Sa is perfect!

Absolutely perfect. House manager Sa is an angel, who could not possibly have done any more from booking many events to organising in-house massages for our family. The property is exactly as advertised, peaceful, spacious and lovely. Only thing is a 15 min walk to the beach.

Fantastic Getaway at this fabulous villa!

We had a wonderful time at this vacation villa! The property is gorgeous and extremely comfortable, providing the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. The maid service and helpers were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making our stay even more enjoyable. The cooking by the maid was so delicious!! adding to the overall fantastic experience. We love the private pool!! Highly recommend!

Great choice

The property is as advertised. Very clean and plenty of room for 3 couples. The pool is spectacular and the grounds surrounding it are impeccable, especially at night Feels like a high end resort. And of course, SA is the star The food she prepares is top notch and authentic Thai She shopped for our food, prepared it, cleaned up for a great price and convenience Everyone tried to talk her to coming home with them. I would never stay anywhere in Phuket!

We had the most incredible trip that we could have NEVER pulled off without Khun Sa, the housekeeper. The house is beautiful and close to great beaches. Khun Sa helped us with every detail of getting around, she is an amazing cook and we preferred to eat at home 3 out of 4 nights, and we felt so well taken care of the whole time! None of us wanted to leave!

Best Villa Experience

We cannot express our gratitude for Khun Sa! She made our stay incredibly luxurious with her five star culinary skills and overall attentive care. The rooms were always kept clean and tidy, and the pool area was most relaxing. Khun Sa was always around to ensure we had everything we needed and more! We would definitely love to return.

Awesome!

We had the most amazing time & stay at this property. The host responded very quickly & always friendly. The house manager, Sa made this trip even more amazing. Sa cooked us delicious food, made sure we had everything we needed & more. She arranged transportation, excursions, massages, places to go & eat. Sa was the icing on the cake for our trip! We will definitely be returning!!
