A functional room for the one night I stayed but a little dated and tired looking. Cannot complain as it was really cheap and it was just a place to crash for the night.

When we arrived we were put on the 2nd floor but the lift wasn't working thankfully the staff carried our suitcases up, got to our room seemed ok .nice and warm but what we didn't realise at the time the heating had just gone off and later we found out it comes on full with no chance of turning it off and your can't open the windows. We only had one set of towels for two people and very little teas, coffee, milk and toilet rolls. We went and asked for them and were given them straight away and the staff member apologized. Unfortunatley there wasn't a fitted sheet on the beds and with all the moving around trying to get comfortable in the heat it meant getting up several times just to make the beds. the walls were very thin, The worst thing though was we were unable to lock our room at night, this made us feel rather vunerable, we put a chair against the door with our suitcase next to that, we also found out that sometimes people can go pass your door and it comes open !!

The entire place is very run down. Reception is only open a certain times. It really did have a council flat feel. The shower room with toilet was so small the sink is in the bedroom. It is cheap but really for not much more stay somewhere else.

Easy access and close to all amenities. Room was spacious. Lounge area was nice and welcoming! Was disappointed that we were told breakfast would be open from 9am to come down and it was closed and locked up.

It was very shabby and it smelt bad. It is conveniently situated for the centre of Clacton but it was very noisy and so I didn't sleep well. There was very little space in the bathroom. They don't do breakfasts so I had to schlep round town in the heat trying to find somewhere. On a positive note the gentleman was very friendly and welcoming when I checked in.
