Wonderful Place

This property is just amazing. The location is perfect for everything in thr area. The house was wonderful, very family oriented, which was veey nice. The yard and local wildlife was a plus! My son and i had a great stay and will definitely be back!

Come from SC to attend a wedding of a family member on Whidbey Island. It was a busy few days with lots of activities. Shangri Lodge Serene Retreat Was a wonderful place to relax and rest.

Nice house, would benefit with upgrades

Positives: 1. Great location, quiet, plenty of space, deers wandering around 2. Basement was a great space for infants. Lots of toys and books to engage them for a couple of days 3. Plenty of utensils for a couple of days 4. Spacious bedrooms Negatives: 1. Outdoor deck was not cleaned. Spider webs all over the outdoor chairs. 2. Indoor furniture was dusty as well. 3. Glassware was not clean 4. There was a crack in the living room ceiling that seemed like a water leak, and what looked like mold around it. 5. TV does not support streaming, only DVD's. Not a big deal, but if someone wants to watch TV, they dont have too many options. 6. We also weren't informed that keys were placed inside a lockbox, and the lockbox wasnt easy to find.

The name says it all

We've stayed at Shangri Lodge a few times now; each as a respite to stressful periods of our lives. Every time I enter, I feel instantly at ease. I say that without exaggeration: The moment you walk through the front door, you feel the sense of comfort and peace that pervades this home. It's become my happy place. Particulars: * Space! You can bring a whole family here (we had eight of us for one visit), and you will have *ample* room. This is a wonderful place to enjoy fun family time with dinners and games, but also have enough space for teens/kids/others to go watch a movie and/or have their own space. The downstairs room is just perfect. * The view! Goodness! We've stayed many places all over the world in our years, and the view here is something you just can't beat. Watch the ferries come and go. Look for deer and fawns. Count the number of bunnies. Admire the sunrise over the Northern Cascades while you drink your coffee in a comfy chair. * A huge yard! Kids can run free while you sit peacefully on the deck. And, the house is well off a (very quiet) road. No kids? Just sit and read a book on the lawn while you listen to the sounds of nature. * Close to everything. It's about a five-minute drive to Clinton and the ferry, and just a little longer for other close, cute towns with tons to do, such as Coupeville, Langley, Bayview and Freeland. So many things to do and see. You will never be bored. Do not pass by this house! You will love it!
