We saw some very negative and very positive reviews and so we were very curious about how our stay would be. We are Marriott Platinum Elite Members and this property is not one of the finer Marriott properties, but it could have been a nice Marriott property with all of the amenities. We were very pleasantly surprised. We will stay here again."

"A true jungle paradise near the beach! Our stay at Caribe Town Bungalows & Suites felt like coming home. The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly, offering fantastic local recommendations and treating you like family. Our private bungalow suite was cozy, clean, and tucked away where we even spotted sloths and monkeys! Relaxing on the veranda in the hammock after a short walk across the road to stunning Playa Cocles was a highlight. Do not miss the delicious, freshly made breakfast! Can’t wait to return."

"Excellent staff and the property is reminiscent of a resort more so than a hotel/stay. Access to beach is extremely easy, attached to the backside of the property, though the beachfront is not 'developed' or 'set up' so do not expect a resort-like sun-chair set up. Excellent location if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto viejo, but still biking distance to get to all the shops and cafes. Fabiano at the front desk, and Rosita for breakfast service, were both absolute delights and extremely helpful :)"

"We had the best stay at awa!! The property is very tastefully done , location on the beach is perfect , breakfast and just food overall (including the coffee) overall is delicious, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff , esp. Johnny .. he went out of his way to help us with some last minute booking changes that we would’ve otherwise stressed about. I also asked the reception staff about the amazing coffee they serve and they were kind enough to give me a sample !! Overall very relaxing and enjoyable stay and totally worth it !! Highly recommend AWA and we hope to be back"
