  • The second oldest building remaining on The Ohio State University campus, Orton Hall was opened in 1893. It is named after Dr Edward Orton, Sr. who served as Ohio State's first president, OSU Professor of Geology from 1873 to 1899, and Ohio's State Geologist from 1882 until his death in 1899. Orton Hall is built of 40 different Ohio building stones. In the outside walls, these stones are laid in stratigraphic order according to their relative positions in Ohio's bedrock. The only non-indigenous to Ohio stone used is Indiana Limestone to build the front steps. It was chosen because of its high concentration of embedded fossils. Great studio close to downtown

We enjoyed staying here while exploring the city of Columbus. It was a great location for us. Everything was clean and the kitchen was more stocked than I expected. Definitely a better experience than any hotel and for a better price!

We really enjoyed our stay. Hot tub is closed. There is a new parking protocol. If you check in during the day the attendents in the garage are super nice and helpfull. The complex is really nice, the peopke are really nice there too.

Nice little apartment space :)

We stayed here for a weekend to see a few concerts coming through Columbus. It was a perfect spot near our venues and there were a lot of restaurant options on the main road.The unit itself was pretty spacious and comfortable for 2 people. We did not use the laundry during our stay but the shower and bathroom were super nice. The only thing we noticed that wasn’t working properly was the garbage disposal which didn’t even turn on.The check in process was a little confusing but once we found the lock box it was simple enough with the keycards :)

Clean and safe studio

We loved our stay here. Check-in was easy and well explained especially since we checked in after 10pm. Parking was free and easy to be on the same floor as the unit. The studio is clean and well equipped with a full kitchen. Comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower and convenient laundry and dishwasher we also loved how it was a quick drive to Ohio State, our purpose of being in Columbus. I loved the fitness facility and pool too. I would highly recommend.

I came to Columbus to hear my daughter speak at OSU and needed a place close to campus. The studio apartment was very clean and nicely decorated. The area is safe and there are eateries in walking distance. The apartment contact was very responsive. Definitely would stay here again.

Perfect for a weekend trip

The room was clean and quiet! The room was easy to find. We were just in the area for the weekend all we needed was a place to sleep and shower so this was perfect for us and at the right price.

Great place close to lots of entertainment

I really liked the property and it was easy to check in/check out. The parking was on the same level as the apartment and it couldn't have been any easier to get to once parked. They provided all necessary details nice and early that morning and were very easy to get ahold of with any questions or concerns. With all that being said, I will definitely book with them if we are back in town.

We had a quick two days for an annual festival. The place was quiet, but they only provided very basic necessities: ie two towels for two people for a two-day stay. No hand towels to be seen. Soap dispensers were empty. Dryer did not work well. Cabinet doors were broken. These were cosmetic issues, but were inconveniences. The pool area closed down at 10pm and the staff were rude when we asked to turn the hot tub back on at 9pm with an hour to go.Location was nice and we had an easy time accessing from the interstate. Hosts were responsive.

Frustrating host

Unfortunately, I was left with my first bad experience with VRBO. I booked this Vrbo because it was listed in the description that it had wifi. When we checked in, I found the modem and the router for the wifi unplugged and on the floor in the closet. Not to fear, I grabbed them and started to hook them up but they wouldn’t connect to Internet. I reached out to the host about this where he informed me he would send somebody to fix the issue. But, at no point did anybody show up to fix the issue and the host decided to stop responding to my messages. When I called VRBO, they did nothing to help resolve the issue. Frustrating to say the least.

There was a light fixture dangling from the ceiling and a broken cabinet in the kitchen and a stained bathroom countertop. And I tried to tell the host to make sure I wasn't charged for any of it and I got no response. The listing also says there's a pole and a hot tub and there were neither. They were both empty and out of service. Also, the only way in and out of the building is through the loading dock next to a very smelly garbage dump
