After Christmas getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We came to enjoy the week after Christmas with our children. The location was great, the property is pretty new. The game room was awesome, hot tub was appreciated. I assume the property was vacant for a while prior to our rental as there were cobwebs on the stairs and a few other cleanliness issues. Otherwise, great place.

Management company absolutely terrible

Issue with a foul smell and black debris coming out of water faucets. Called management immediately. I was promised a call back, which i never received. Had to call several times next morning to finally get a response. Finally resolved at end of 2nd day. House had zero tiolet paper and the cheapest towels. I will never again rent for this management company

Family Trip for Dad's 70th Birthday

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you are looking for a quiet secluded location this house is perfect. The house was beautiful with great views. I would suggest bringing your own linens. The linens provided where very poor quality with stains on some. With the house being so new I had expected it to be very clean however the windows were dirty, baseboards and light fixtures dusty. We ended up cleaning the sliding glass doors so we could see the views better. The house was decorated nicely and kitchen was well stocked. Check in was easy and quick. Overall a nice house just needs a good cleaning.

Nice house - not clean!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was perfect for our family, seemed like the owners put a lot of thought into the set-up and the organization. BUT, the cleaning company was not thorough at all. The floors were full of sand & crumbs, the carpets were not vaccuumed, the oven had food that had burned in it and someone just put foil on the bottom to attempt to cover it up, there was no toilet paper when we arrived (thankfully we brought our own!), the grill was very dirty and needed to be cleaned before we could use it. I could go on and on. Overall, it was a great experience - I would recommend they hire other cleaners though!

Love the Beach

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property description claimed “unobstructed ocean views” which is totally inaccurate. Couldn’t even see the ocean; the view was wires and a house being built across the way. Doesn’t quality as “unobstructed oxen views” in my opinion. Well-equipped kitchen had terrible pots, pans, etc. Beach chair selection was poor! Not impressed by main deck of great room. Grill didn’t heat up! Kitchen garbage can was dirtiest stinkiest have ever seen. The toilet on bottom floor rocked. Yellow water in tub on bottom floor! First time renting from Beach Realty, correspondences were great, disappointed with what I read and expected with what I got. Wasn’t like it was cheap. Also didn’t like the fact that parking passes had to be picked up after they are returned from previous guests so gad yo wait around. Beach is beautiful & wild horses daily! My family also takes our own sheets & while making the beds found iPad left by previous guest which made me question the changing of sheets. And towels were terrible. Sorry to complain but wish I would have chose differently!

Beautiful and Relaxing

Darn near perfect

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our 1st trip to Carova, but will not be our last. Our house had everything we needed and wanted. It was just me, the wife, and two boys (9 and 11). Everyone loved the pool and hot tub and the boys really loved the rec room on rainy days. There was plenty of bedrooms for our group (might argue we got too much house for just us 4, but hey, #treatyoself). Pulling into the driveway we were greeted by two locals (horses). How amazing! We hoped to see horses at least once on our 5-night stay... we saw horses every day (multiple times most days). And by "we saw horses", I mean they were either in our yard or the house across the street (so close). It was super cool. My only 'gripe' about this particular house is that the master bathroom shower floor felt soft, a bit bouncy, and at a non-intentional angle. I'm no contractor, but assume the subfloor is not doing so hot. Kind of a bummer on such a nice, new-ish house, but when we told management, they said they'd investigate for future renters. And we hope they do because we are very likely to be future renters at this same house again! Literally no other complaints - and the shower situation didn't stop us from using the shower, it was just a minor, noticeable 'thing.' Beach driving was fun, neighbors were respectful, Corolla offered some fun day-trip activities. All in all a great experience.

Beach review

Kitchen was well stocked with a lot of necessary items, didn’t need to bring any pots pans/cooking utensils. Plenty of linens for each bedroom and bathroom. Our family loved the pool and hot tub, especially on days where we were done with the beach but still wanted to play. We were able to see the wild horses at least once or twice almost every single day, sometimes right in our yard. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect for relaxing off the beaten path

We loved the quiet and more isolated feel of this property. It was very comfortable and well appointed (only thing we found missing was a can opener). The views were incredible and the space fit our three families and children very well with enough spaces to feel like we could retreat and have privacy when we wanted it. Overall an amazing stay if you aren’t looking for busy nights on the town and tons of crowds.

Off the grid

First time for us to stay in 4x4 area (been there on day trips) and it did not disappoint. Wild Horses daily, fishing twice daily with high tides. Quiet, family-oriented. Only advise you do your best to pack all provisions. Despite our best efforts to pack for the week, still required a couple of trips to Corolla. The effort to go to the store to “pick up a few things” is :30 each way of beach driving plus the time driving on roads and in the store. That’s when being that far off the grid does not work in your favor.

Beautiful!!!

The house was amazing and in a great location! The 4x4 beach was a unique experience and WE DID SEE the horses!!!!!! The only thing was having to travel to the nearest restaurant or shop…. It’s a 30-40 ride ….so bring all you need to this paradise So you can forget about the rest!!!!

Family Vacation

On-site description was not clear that there was no road access to the home. We had to drive through 15 miles of sand dunes and was stuck and had to be towed. Arrive to house to find it wide open and dirty. Attempted numerous times since being home to speak with management via email no response. House is pretty don’t get me wrong but more suitable for locals who are familiar with area. Left next day due to damage to our vehicle. Vacation was ruined in our eyes. Expensive lesson don’t want anyone else making same mistake.

Sweet and Salty

Wonderful home with great decor. Kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare/cook for the group. Lots of inside activities as well as outdoor (besides the beach). Quick access to the beach via walking or vehicle. Pass for parking on the beach provided at property which was a big plus. Great stay!

The 4x4 area of OBX is the place to relax.

The house was in immaculate shape when we arrived. Spotless with fresh linens and ready to go. The beach was just a short walk across the street. Our entire family loves nature and wildlife so we enjoyed seeing wild horses, mocking birds, rabbits, right near the house. The beach didn't disappoint either. We saw bald eagles, ospreys, great black-backed gulls, a northern gannet, sanderlings. An immature harbor seal stopped by to rest on the beach for a couple of days. A local non-profit group set up a perimeter to keep it safe. There were plenty of great restaurants and shops open to check out when we made a trip into town. Will definitely visit again. The only MINOR issue we had was internet wasn't working and the paperwork hadn't been updated with passwords for the backup connection. Again..minor. You'll love the views and relaxation at this beautiful home.

I would never use this rental company again

There are several reasons I wouldn’t book here again. Communication with the rental company is the biggest reason. Before I sent a deposit I called to make sure the house has wifi internet bc I have to work from home daily. When we arrived no wifi on Saturday and we did not have wifi until Thursday of that week. We informed the rental company of no wifi when we arrived. I was told it would be working on Monday. The internet company had to send a crew out to run a line from the pole to the house across the street. The front stairs were missing a tread to step on and the pool had trash in it. When I say trash I don’t mean leaves or outdoor debris, I mean garbage actually in the pool. I feel the rental company was to blame for our issues imagine going on vacation and the kids not having any television to watch the until the 5th day you’ve been there! Not so much a great vacation.

Beautiful home

This house was beautiful! They had extra games and things to do, a pool and hot tub, everything was clean and well kept! We seen the wild horses in our yard everyday and the beach was just across the road. Overall a great trip and we will definitely book this home again!

Highly recommend!

Beautiful home in a great location. Spacious and new. Would stay again. Only minor concerns were that they don't tell you that the previous house guests are responsible for leaving paper items for the next guest, i.e. TP, paper towels. So they were limited to start off. Also, there is only a Keurig coffee system, so we had to drive back into town to get those, too. We also could not find the recycling center as depicted on the map provided in the house information. Other than those minor issues, the place is amazing and our stay was excellent! Highly recommend!

The owners took just about everything into consideration from the fully stocked kitchen to the small touches. The game room was a huge hit for our family when it rained. We loved the views and the outdoor furniture so much that we ordered some of the same for our own pool deck!! Comfortable beds too! It was like our home away from home. I’d highly recommend!!
