We had a fantastic time at Crogen Wing, which was ideally situated for a variety of long walks in the Dee valley and towards Snowdonia. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, and keen that we should have an enjoyable stay. The cottage itself was very comfortable, if a little quirky, well presented, well equipped with everything (including Aga) very easy to use. The estate surroundings are really well maintained and very photogenic. We would recommend Crogen Wing to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in beautiful rural surroundings, but still within easy reach of Bala, Llangollen and Snowdonia. Our hosts Sarah and Henry and the doggies were all extremely friendly and welcoming. Fresh hens eggs were delicious. Crogen Wing is full of character and period features and furniture which we love. Beds very comfortable. The pub just down the road Bryntirion Inn comes highly recommended for an evening meal. Setting near the River Dee was idyllic. The only request is bigger bath sheets please.

We were given the warmest of welcomes by our hosts to Crogen Wing, a beautiful part of a wonderful old country house. It was a very relaxing week in a tranquil location. We enjoyed the homely Aga cooking, hot deep baths, wandering down to the river, coffee in the garden and fresh eggs and potatoes from Sarah's hens and vegetable garden! A fabulous holiday!

This is a fabulous location and Sarah and Henry are excellent hosts.

This is a fabulous location and Sarah and Henry are excellent hosts. Crogen Wing is not like a holiday cottage, you are staying in part of a very old listed building. It is a lovely building with all its unusual features. We have had many holiday cottages in various locations in all parts of the UK, but this is one of the best locations we have stayed in.

Sarah was a welcoming and very helpful host who communicated extremely well - knowing all our names on arrival and even texting following our departure to make sure we had had a lovely stay. We were without heat shortly after our arrival but as soon as we reported it Sarah had it sorted within minutes.
