“5 minutes walk to train station and 10 minutes walk to town centre, staff were average, not active enough, could be better. Room was big , but accessories could be improved”

“Lovely pub and restaurant. Room lovely and clean but didn't need a disabled bathroom and extra lighting that was bright in room at night. Large family group staying next to us, who had early morning meeting in hallway and no soft closing doors so quite noisy. Staff excellent. ”

“Everyone was helpful, especially Claude the evening manager. Breakfast was warm and tasty, lots of options. And the front desk helped with take away items and ice cubes. ”

“Super quiet location, rooms were beautifully done and recently refurbished. Very much liked the underfloor heating in the bathroom and super comfy bed. The communal area and restaurant were closed when we visited but there is a fab deli, 2 mins up road and linked to wider Castle Ashby estate. Overall a gem of a hotel and ideal for quiet break to relax and refresh. ”

“The Hotel does need renovation to compete with newly build hotel chain. The room size is descend, but the furniture is old and has many scratch. If can do some renovation, I am sure can bring back many more customers.”

“Nice mid-range hotel with excellent spa (best treatments we’ve had, at very fair price, though no pool). Excellent dinner in restaurant & good breakfast. Our room was on 3rd floor and, being an old building, there’s no lift. Room was ok, though a ‘standard’ double, not a queen / king. There’s no air-con, but a good floor standing fan. Good sized bathroom with large shower. We will certainly return here as the spa & food are so good. ”
