“Lovely clean rooms with a nice sized restroom. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Our room included a large outdoor area with table and chairs that our children enjoyed. Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating to our requests. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of options for the whole family.”

“Fantastisch hotel op een super mooie locatie. Ik had het geluk dat ik een terras met uitzicht op de kerk had wat maakte dat 's avonds op je eigen terras zitten een super mooi uitzicht gaf. Restaurant in het hotel is ook super! Personeel super vriendelijk, niet iedereen spreekt perfect Engels maar ze doen zeker allemaal hun best.”

“Beautiful property overall, but unfortunately the room needs some attention. The bathroom and the area under the kitchen sink had a strong mould smell, and there was visible black mould on the shower caulking and even around the bathroom towel hook. The shower also did not drain properly, which caused water to back up onto the bathroom floor. The host provided restaurant recommendations, which was appreciated, but unfortunately all of the places suggested were closed during our stay. Breakfast……

“I travel a lot to the area around Guimaraes, but I found this new hotel nestled up in the hills and it is super. I'd certainly recommend. I've stayed twice and the indoor pool (and sauna/ steam room) are excellent, and the outdoor pool and view of the mountains in the distance is idyllic. Good food menu and room service (same menu, not a smaller one like in many hotels). Will certainly stay again.”

“Our two-night stay at Paço de Calheiros was absolutely wonderful. We were met in the courtyard by Francisco, the Count Calheiros. He showed us to our room while giving us a quick rundown of the property and invited us to refreshments on the patio before dinner. He joined us and four other guests at dinner during which he provided an interesting history of the century’s old estate/vineyard and the Calheiros family. After dinner the Count gave us a tour of the castle. The location of this hotel……
