"We stayed for two nights at this Holiday Inn. We were especially excited about having some air-conditioning since we had it. Nowhere else on our three weeks in the UK. The air-conditioning was not working at all. We let the staff know shortly after arriving. We were able to open some windows, thank goodness, because it was very hot in there. We were about to go out for a while and the front desk. Staff told us they would try to reboot it on their end. When we came back, it was still hot and stuffy, and we let them know. So they brought us a noisy fan that we couldn’t use. They said they would get maintenance on it the next day. We went out for the day and when we came back, it was still not fixed. They said maintenance called off today. Finally we spoke to the manager and he compensated us for one night. By then leaving the windows open and with it being rainy, had cooled the room off quite a bit, so we were happy with that. I wasn’t too happy that you had no option for breakfast other than the 20 pound per person price of the breakfast buffet. My husband and I did not care for the English breakfast -being that we are Americans. Not to mention that’s about $30 per person in US dollars. Overall, the room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable and we did have a refrigerator and a bathtub! The bathtub was important to me. I would recommend this place, just don’t book it through hotels.com because it was a nightmare trying to get anything solved with them in the middle"

"Very nice place to be and the location was great for us. The staff are all very cheerful and happy to help. Buffet breakfast was good too although we never did get our fried eggs. My only real problem was the hotel was very hot both in the room and the bar area."
