  • For Rest, as the name suggest is a beautiful two bedroom timber home situated among a lush rain forest canopy on the famous Point Plomer Road at Crescent Head, between Delicate Nobby and Big Hill.

    Sit and relax and listen to the variety of birds in the morning or explore the block and take advantage of the breath taking flora and fauna on offer and rejuvenate in the wonderful natural environment that Australia has to offer. The property is protected under a NSW Conservation Agreement. If you walk quietly you will often spot wild life - heaps of different birds, red-necked wallabies, lace monitor lizards and much more.

    Walk down the lane across the road to access Big Hill Beach and walk the headland, or go for a surf on a not so crowded beach.

Great value beach cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For Rest is a great, affordable cabin for beach lovers and a small family. Its nestled in the forest about 1km back from the beach. Great for winter surf trips with hot shower and great fire place and heaps of videos. Was a perfect winter retreat with my teenage sons

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cute simple cabin in the rainforest. Bed comfy and kitchen functional. Two key improvements needed - lumpy couches in dire need replacement and walls need a good clean to get all the dust and some mould off. May not be an issue for everyone but was tricky as I am allergic.Bathroom functional and some nice homey touches from the owners. A lot of love has gone into the building of this property. Floors were clean. Take boots and spray for the leeches! it really is the dappled rainforest. Make sure you ask for directions as difficult to find for a non local. We couldn’t get the fireplace going as seemed to be blocked but would be nice if functional. We were happy we brought a 4wd to get up the driveway with all the rain.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: horrible stay...nasty driveway when wet and a case of BED BUGGS to boot.......tell owner to fix the beds as I wouldnt like anyone else to get them....bpb

Nice, eco-friendly house, but not located at pin

Visitors should be aware that the house is not located at the pin shown on the Stayz listing, and that sections of Point Plomer Road are currently poorly maintained gravel and so best suited to 4WDs. Check the printed directions that the real estate agent provides when you pick up the key, rather than following the map or using GPS. The house is located 900m inland from Point Plomer Road. Turn right after Big Hill cottages onto a tarred drive marked no entry/private, and drive up the hill to the crest. You will see farm sheds to the right and a farm gate ahead. The house is located down the driveway to the left. The house would make a nice getaway (especially with the limited reception) for a couple, but is less suitable for children hoping for a beachside holiday. You would need to drive them down to the road and then along to find beach access. We have suggested to the agent to update the listing.
