"I booked a non-smoking room, but I was initially given a room that smelled horribly of cigarettes and looked completely different from the photos on Expedia. After I complained, the receptionist moved me to another room. It was also a smoking room, just with a slightly less intense smell, but still unbearable. Since I was exhausted after a 4-hour flight delay, I tried to tough it out and get some sleep, but it was impossible. The air was unbreathable.
At 3:30 AM, unable to sleep due to the stench, I complained again. The receptionist claimed the room I was in was non-smoking and that they couldn't control if guests smoked in it or not. However, she conveniently forgot that there was an ASHTRAY in the room, not to mention the carpet was covered in cigarette burns and damage.
After this second complaint, she finally gave me the right room. It was completely different from the previous ones: a clean, brand-new environment, with no ashtray, matching exactly what was shown during booking. It seems the hotel has two distinct sections: one with new, renovated rooms, and another with old, dirty, and apparently smoking-allowed rooms.
Despite the two attempts to give me a lesser room, the new room was comfortable. Additionally, the free airport shuttle service worked well. The receptionist (I believe it was her) communicated efficiently via WeChat and WhatsApp to coordinate my pickup and drop-off times."
