I stayed here expecting to use the pool, since it was listed as one of the amenities. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I found out the pool was closed and not available during my stay. This was really disappointing, especially because it was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. I understand that maintenance or unexpected issues can happen, but it would be very helpful if the hotel clearly updated this information online or notified guests ahead of time. Being transparent about unavailable amenities would help guests make better decisions. The breakfast was also very disappointing. The options were limited, and the quality did not meet expectations. This was another area that could definitely be improved. Overall, the stay was okay, but I hope the hotel improves communication about important amenities like the pool and works on the quality of the breakfast.

Parking was convenient. Doors are not controlled-access. They are currently doing construction on their "water park" so that is closed. This place needs a lot more updates, but was decent and homey. My only problem is that I'm a light sleeper and needed the heater on. It loudly cycles on and off, seems like every ten minutes, making it difficult to sleep.

The heater worked well and staff were nice but slide from that there were not to many positives. The toilet was running when we got in the room then after ok once the handled was juggled. Unfortunately after a few flushes the inner connections broke off. Front desk gal came in and fixed it but would still need to jiggle the handle. The mattress and pill were horrible! Pillows had that ‘washed’ feel - all clumpy and smushed. Bed was hard and in spots could feel the springs. No bed bugs from what I could see. The inside of cabinets had visible debris. Tv was on an antenna so it was poor picture and not come in on a lot of channels. A lightbulb was out and I asked for one to replace it. The front desk couldn’t find one. Pool / lazy river was closed- we were notified a day before check in. Breakfast was final. Only had waffle machine, no eggs except for some suspicious looking boiled eggs. They had cereal, a few donuts, muffins and English muffins, yogurt and granola. Left much to be desired.

I picked this place because they dont have my brand of hotel in town. Little did I know that their waterslide was down until April 20...no biggie. The first issue was getting checked in. There were these 3 girls trying to cancel their hotel rooms since the waterpark was closed. Wouldnt you call to cancel? It said on the website that the waterpark was closed until April 20. It took forever to check in! I get checked in and Im in the rear of the building. The parking lot could use some work but Im here to sleep and relax, not parking lot race. Other than people showing up late and slamming doors at midnight, it was quiet. Some things that I didnt like was the lack of breakfast. For the price I got charged, you would think that they would have a hot breakfast...not cereal, fruit and juice. Also, the cable in this place was awful. Little TVs and half the channels didnt work. Also, the wifi is poor at best. It kept on blinking on and off and sometimes it would buffer just to watch live news on my phone. There is a new mexican sit down place attatched to the hotel. Theres a walmart right across the street, there is a gas station also across the parking lot.

It wasnt bad by any means. This property is getting old and tired. The hvac unit ran every 8 minutes and was clunky. Was on first floor which I requested, there was a door in between rooms and could hear everything that was going on with the people next door. Light bulbs were out in bathroom. Wasnt bad for somewhere to lay your head for the night but definitely not somewhere you would want to go to relax and enjoy down time.

The breakfast options are poor and you have to rely on the quality and cleanliness of whoever handles repackaging the food items. The view of the pool area was disgusting. With it being closed since January, I would think the least they could do is clean up the place a little. The hallways are poorly lit and dungeon-like, which may be by design because what you can see, the walls and doors are filthy. The only floor lamp in the room didn't work and any other lighting was very limited so the entire room was dark. For a room that sleeps 6, there wasn't even enough shampoo or soap for 6 showers. I have stayed in multiple motels in Brookings that sleep 4 and every single one of them at least provides 2 bars of soap. As someone that has spent over a decade in the hospitality business, I would be ashamed to manage a place that has such great potential in this regard.

This hotel is so run down. There is no security at all. All of the doors anyone could just walk in at any time. The room smelt musty and old. The door to the bathroom did not latch shut and could not lock or be closed. There was no drain stop in the tub. All of the things in the room looked like they were at least 20 years old even the blankets. You could hear everything in the halls all night long. I woke up twice honestly thinking someone was in my room but they were in the hallways. The pool and waterpark were closed which was the only reason we were staying there. I would never go back.

The place was oudated. No staff at front for arrival needed to call them. Hallway smelled. Room felt like a dungeon. No natural light and lamps not bright. Paint was chipping and room outdated. Breakfast was meager and not appealing.

Very outdated on everything. Pillows were so old they were yellow. Pullout bed was so thin an adult couldn't sleep on it. The list goes on but i just left it at those 2 because besides from being outdated it did its job as a place to sleep but will definitely try something different next to we are in town .
