"The room and bathroom were a good size with a comfy bed and crisp bedding. The staff were fabulous, the pub food was great and the cooked breakfast was the right way to set you up for a day out"

"Small , but nice bedroom,bed lovely and comfy , nice clean bedding, little sink in corner of bedroom , didn't get any hot water from the tap, enough tea and coffee etc for a night stop over, now the bathroom had a horrible smell coming from it , possibly from the sink hole, tiny sink with shelf above was a bit awkward to clean teeth,friendly lad on reception."

"We loved our stay here , stayed just the one night as we were visiting our daughter the next day in Bakewell , just a few things to point out which would not put us off returning, but need to be addressed we feel , the room was very clean , but the dust let it down as it had not been touched , no safety mat in the shower & I slipped and hurt my back as it was very soapy & slippery & the fan in the room was very much appreciated as the weather was so hot , but when my husband moved it , the safety guard came off the front & almost too his fingers off as the fan was on , the safety screw was missing. The staff were excellent and very helpful & informative when I asked for directions into Chesterfield. As I said earlier we would definitely return here but for constructive criticism these 3 things need addressing."

"We'll beyond expectations .Fabulous clean modern rooms. First class bedding and huge soft towels. Perfect position half way between matlock Bath and matlock. Just park and walk. Very scenic. Staff absolutely Amazing. Full English delicious for 12.99 each . Really is a beautiful hotel and at a beautiful position and such a reasonable price. Many thanks for making our stay a very memorable one. Definitely be back and looking forward to dining in you're beautiful indian restaurant xx"

"We loved the individuality of the environment in the hotel with all of the decor in the rooms, especially the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast had excellent choices and were beautifully cooked and presented. The evening meals were equally lovely. It has a nice outside seating area where you can enjoy a drink and a meal. The car parking was great, just across the road. The only negative aspect we had was our room was on the top floor in the main hotel and because of the heatwave there was no air conditioning in the room so it was really difficult to sleep."

"Very spacious car park the staff were incredibly friendly and gave me an extended checkout of 12 noon which was really helpful the room was lovely very clean and the air conditioning for this time of year was absolutely amazing always tend to try and use this hotel when I travel to this part of the country for the above reasons"

"Good air con. Plenty of parking extra at rear. Clean room. Lots of light switches but only 1 worked. No shelf in shower to stand anything on. Taps in sink not enough height to get kettle access. Corridor lit very dim a bit creepy for ladies on their own. Price of drinks in bar were extortionate. Lots of cameras in bar ceiling I counted 9 at least. No intention of taking our own drink but felt like Stalag 13 with cameras watching everyone. The wedding was excellent but not a place I would visit again to regimental."
