The bed and pillows were nice. The view was beautiful.Unit was Very outdated. The furniture was so uncomfortable that we used our beach chairs to sit in living room and the kitchen so old with original molded refrigerator (picture included).The bedroom carpet is old and dirty with exposed carpet nails/tacks so I put down a towel to avoid cutting my foot

Beautiful view. Room was clean. They had beach stuff available, chairs, floats, fishing pole. Washer and dryer are not in unit. A few minor things wrong. Musty smell, rust on refrigerator, kitchen sink dripped, just had to put knob in middle and it was ok, but we didn't mind it. Worth the price. We were off season. So the elevators were fine. I'd check if all 4 elevators worked before I'd rebook in season. If you're not picky, it's a wonderful place to stay.

You get what you pay for

I was upset because I was told my unit was available for early check-in and even called on my way down and was told the same thing, but they hadn’t heard an update from house keeping yet. Imagine my surprise when I get to the resort a little early and was informed that my unit would not be available until check-in. I was told by the rep I spoke with at that time that I was never told by another rep that my unit would be available for early check-in. I didn’t appreciate this. I’m not a liar and I didn’t make that piece up.The place itself was nice but there was black stuff (mold ?) around the vents in the living room. The outside of the fridge was a little rusty, the carpet in the bedroom was dingy. The color was messed up on the tv in the bedroom. Every channel had a green and purple outline.All in all, the condo matched the cheaper price I paid. If you are looking for a cheap, beachfront property in Destin, that is centrally located this unit would be a great option.

Everything about this place was amazing. There was a few times waiting the the elevator took awhile but it’s to be expected with how big the resort is. My family really enjoyed it.

I would look elsewhere

Please note this review is all about the condo and not about pelican Bay resort. The staff and property were excellent, the condo was not excellent. Complete lumps, no way to sit on the couch. The bed was bouncy, no support, lumpy. There were no extra blankets in the condo. The balcony chairs were cheap plastic, couldn't sit in them. Even if you sat outside the pot smell filled the air. The table was completely rusted on the balcony. One toilet kept running. The other toilet's seat was about to fall off. The carpet in the bedroom felt crunchy and disgusting. We didn't go barefoot in there. There was a sharp carpet tack under the carpet to the bathroom. The dining room table's glass top wasn't attached to the legs. The chairs felt like they would break when we got up from the table. My recommendation, look elsewhere.My Weree

Needs some love and attention!

Over all, the unit met our needs. However, this rental as a whole needs some attention. For example, we had 4 forks to use, so we had to wash dishes after every meal. Not a huge deal, just inconvenient. The couch and bunk bed mattresses have outlived their use and need replaced. The master bath has more water pressure in the sink than in the shower, and the toilet seat barely fits a toddler. The shared bathroom has much better water pressure, however there is black mold in the shower and on the ceiling. The toilet is more comfortable yet it has been resealed so many times it sits crooked. The condo was cleaned to a respectable standard and the owner provides a substantial starter set of cleaning items for dishes and laundry. (Our shared washer for the 20th floor was broke during our stay.) This is a wonderful resort and we will return I'm sure. But, unfortunately, we will not stay in this unit again. We were not unhappy with our stay, just...not impressed

What A View

Property is on the top floor & the view is incredible! The unit needs updating, refurnishing, & restocking. The paint color is terrible for a beach house, the furniture would look good in a museum. However, the bed was comfortable but old Overall, the location makes this a great place to stay.

Needs Updated ASAP

This is our 3rd time staying at Pelican Resort and this is by far the worst one we have ever stayed at. The entire place needs a major upgrade…..mold by AC vent, all furniture was old and very uncomfortable…..the stools you can’t trust to sit on because they wobble badly….beds were like sleeping on springs, fridge was rusted on the side, hardly any towels and bedding was provided, literally the worst VRBO we have ever stayed in. It’s so outdated that they have a stereo that has a cassette player…..everything is about that age.

Keep Looking

Keep looking! The mattresses all need replaced; the springs can be felt while sitting on the couch; some outlets don’t work; the tv didn’t work in the bedroom; the microwave didn’t have a turn table; the bunk beds weren’t made when we arrived. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere!

Vacasa did not hold up to there end. I asked for things to be corrected from review I read and it wasn’t. I didn’t come on vacation to wait for housekeeping and handyman. Toliet seat falling off,mold in toilet very bad. Stools broken , no remote in bedroom. No battery for remote in living room , refrigerator rusty , vent in master bath falling out ( which my husband fixed for time being). Missing blinds in living room , stove very rusty , pans all scratched up. Had to buy one because I was not useing those.

Expecting a wonderful time that experience we were on the 20th floor which was fine. The beds were horrible bunkbeds were coming out of the wall couldn’t even use them carpet was sticky the commode was leaking in one of the bathrooms at the bottom we had to turn it off. The sliding glass door is the lock was broken on it

Best view in Destin!!

The view is absolutely amazing. From the 20th floor you can see for miles and miles. The room had everything our family of 5 needed. The resort has 3 pools, 2 hot tubs, Arcade room, Cafe, and food bar. Absolutely a great experience all around.

Good place to stay!

Read some of the other/older reviews and decided to give it a try. It was clean and at the very top floor so it does indeed have an excellent view. Great location in town. You have to have wristbands for the property and gate codes to get to the beach which makes is a private area. The electric went out within the whole building while we were there(probably from the storm) but they were quick to fix it. The only thing I did not like, the balcony door lock did not work and there was not a deadbolt on the front door. 2 big no no's when traveling with a 2 year old but we had to make it work.

Nice place!

The condo and overall property were beautiful! It was very safe and secure. Beautiful sand and beach. Great guys and servers working at the beach. 2 things we didn’t like were: there were smokers on the balconies, and there was a drone being flown which was looking in other condos.

Amazing view

Couldn’t ask for a better view! We saw dolphins swimming and playing from our balcony. The condo is a little dated, and could use some updating. However, It was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay again :)

This place was disgusting to say the least. We walked in and immediately hit in the face with an awful smell. The place does not look like it’s been deep cleaned ever. Dust on the walls and baseboards. We went to look for extra blankets and the only ones we could find were bunched up in a laundry basket in the cleaning closet. One of the showers still had hair on the walls. The condo was in the perfect location with a beautiful view but needs to be better taken care of.

LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING

Carpet in bedroom filthy. So filthy I left early as I couldn't stand to sleep in the bedroom. Condo smelled like smoke on entry. Left for several hours until they sprayed something in there. Toilet attempted to overflow, but I stopped it from doing so. Maintenance person came. Mold inside shower base edge. I have pictures. First several days water smelled like sulfur, including shower. Like I said. I left early due to all of this.

Nasty place, stinks, so dirty the carpet makes your feet black

this place is not worth the money. Location is good, however the toilet over ran, only a 20 gallon water heater. No hot water 80% of the time. Black mold in bathrooms, mold around refrigerator mold, bedding smelled horrible ,gross as hell!!!!!Small holes in walls, blood on the wall outside the bedroom!!!!. Would Never Stay at this place again. Filthy place if I could get a refund i would. Nasty nasty, owners should refund. Please don't choose this one if you like dirty filthy, stay if not please find something else. Place is super misleading Walking on the floor makes your feet black, not alittle black, a whole lot Black. Couldn't believe the black crap. This place should be closed and health inspector check it out. Blood on Wall, black floors and mold, what a huge disappointment will be posting on Facebook, on instanta gram and where else on beach groups so others will not be submitted to this filthy place, with the owner taken advantage and miss leading people. I have pictures to back up the nasty in this place.
