Bring your own air fresheners LOL

First of all, the location was great. We loved being able to see the ocean when we were in the main living area. That was about the only positive we had… upon first entry, the smell of stale cigarette smoke covered up with cheap air freshener was incredibly strong. For a “nonsmoking” unit, you’d expect it to be…nonsmoking? When we went to the front desk to explain the situation, the answer we received was “we can give you a scent machine, but it’s the best we can do” and “we can move you for the night, let the scent machine run, and you can come back tomorrow” (only to then be told they actually had no other places to move us… and we couldn’t be in the room with the “scent machine”). Spending $2,000 on a room for a once a year vacation only for it to smell like smoke? Yikes. We immediately ordered oil diffusers to help the smell dissipate, but when we arrived back home we washed EVERY article of clothing we brought with us and showered. The cleanliness was meh. The bathroom doors wouldn’t shut and got stuck on the floor, so using the bathroom with someone asleep in the bedroom was a feat for sure. Having a bar in the bottom floor was pretty nice, and the elevator wait times were fast! All in all, we would not stay here again. But if you do, bring your own air fresheners!!!!!

It was overall a decent place to stay. I felt as thought it maybe could have been cleaner in terms of the floors and bathrooms. We were switched rooms, which we were not expecting. And with that, we did not have a washer and dryer in our room like we expected. It was nice to be right on the beach. The facilities and amenities at the resort were not a clean as we were expecting either.

25th anniversary

Sundestin was recommended by our friends for our 25th wedding anniversary. Loved the beach and ease of reserving. There were a few things that were broken, but didn't hinder our stay (toilet paper holder of all things). The Pelican Roost would not answer the phone for us to place an order, even though the condo had a carry out menu. The bed needs replaced badly. Not only was the mattress horrible, but the legs on the frame were broken. Overall, we would stay again because the beach was simply beautiful

Room 1105

Wyndham is the new property owner, and I don’t care for them at all, so my review is only for the actual room 1105. The room was clean and adequate. A little tired looking, could use new carpet in the bedroom, but the views were amazing. Also could use a pair of scissors and some plastic drinking glasses. I was concerned I’d shatter glass everywhere, so we bought red solo cups. All in all we had a great stay, but probably wouldn’t stay in this room again.

Condition of Condo

This is our second say at Sundestin to celebrate our anniversary. Check in was great and condo was clean and sufficient. When entering the condo we were hit with a wet moldy smell. We thought of trying to move but figured it would be the same. We had to go to Walmart to buy air fresheners that did help by the next day. The carpet in the bed room has to be removed. It was nasty and felt we needed to ware our shoes when walking on it. The shower drain was extremely slow and stood in a few inches of water every shower. We had a good time however we will not rent with Sundestin again.

Filthy, stinky carpet in the bedroom

Let me start by saying the views were nice. However, the carpet in the bedroom was filthy and stinky! The carpet actually stunk up the whole condo, which made our stay a little sour, to say the least. We tried to get help at the reception desk with the smell of the carpet. However, they told us we would have to contact the host. We tried to contact the host numerous times while we were there. But to no avail, we got no response the entire time of our stay. We eventually ended up going to Walmart to buy some carpet fresh to put on the carpet. The condo had a nice view, and the surrounding activities near the resort were nice. But the small nuances of making things nice for guests we're missing, and these small things are very important. Guests want to feel like they're home away from home when on vacation! Well. I can't particularly say this was the case with this condo and host. The host needs to do a better job at being more responsive to their guests. There were a couple of things that were not mentioned. I think the reader can figure out the rest. I would NOT stay in this condo again.
