This was a magical place to stay! The grounds were incredible, the restaurant a delightful experience, and the trails full on cloud forest adventure! The breakfast after our morning hike was just perfect!

Este hotel es espectacular! Pasamos un fin de semana increíble! El bosque y clima típico del área es protagonista del encanto de San Gerardo de Dota y Trogon Lodge lo sabe aprovechar. Estamos enormemente agradecidos por el servicio y atención tan especial del staff. 100% volveremos a ir!

Upon arrival the staff greeted us with a very pleasant attitude and smile. They were great the entire stay. We went on an early morning tour to see the Resplendent Quetzal. Our tour guide was the best. He is very experienced and knows everything about the Quetzal. He has been working at Trogon for 15 years. The food was amazing and the scenery was top notch!!! We loved our time there.

La experienci de forma general fue muy buena, la atención fue muy excelente, el lugar perfecto. Las amenidades y actividades lo necesario, es un lugar para desconectarse. Mi única recomendación sería que la cama fuera un poco más grande tipo king.

Beautiful lodge in the mountain forest with beautiful landscaping around the individual cottages along a hill. Delicious food and very friendly staff. The perfect location for birdwatching, particularly the Resplendent Quetzal. Hence we saw one male, a female and a juvenile quetzal for about 30 minutes during the special quetzal tour in the morning, in addition to a male quetzal right at the lodge and another one that I could film along the nature trail of the lodge.

On a eu un merveilleux séjour. Magnifique site. Belle excursion matinale à la recherche des quetzals. Seul inconvénient: wifi seulement au restaurant et aires communes.

Quiet, clean, and abounding with lovely rustic charm. A terrific place to unplug and get back to nature. Staff is kind, grounds are just beautiful with lots of places to tuck oneself in with a book or to just daydream. Breakfast was perfect. My husband recommends their pancakes:)

Ziemlich abgelegen, aber dafür umso schöner liegt die Anlage. Perfekt, um auszuspannen und Ruhe zu finden. Es gibt einen kleinen 3 Kilometer Trail der doch ziemlich steil hoch und runtergeht. 60 Minuten braucht man. Vorbeikommt man an einem kleinen und spektakulären Wasserfall. Die Anlage ist schön gepflanzt und direkt neben meiner Lodge habe ich Colibris gesehen. Außerhalb der Lodge kann man vermutlich wenig unternehmen. Ich war im August und nachts wurde es dann doch ziemlich frisch und kalt. Gut, dass ein Elektroofen in der Lodge ist. Den braucht man definitiv.Das Personal ist überaus freundlich. Das Frühstück war lecker. Klare Empfehlung.

A truly beautiful place, well laid out in a mountain valley. The atmosphere is welcoming and the restaurant is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only minor suggestion for improvement would be to install Wi-Fi extenders to all the rooms. Our room was towards the back of the property and we lost the signal just before reaching it.

I highly recommend The Trogon Lodge. The staff at the reception desk, the restaurant and the bar/café were super kind and helpful. The new manager is doing a great job. Delicious food: sopa azteca, sauteed trout with veggies, chicken stew, egg omelettes, for example. The trout could not be fresher since the hotel has its own trout ponds. (If you like juicy trout better ask the chef to cook it for less time.) The hotel is located at 2,200 meters above sea level (7,000 feet), at the edge of a crystal clean river, with a soothing sound and view areas with chairs to relax. Gardens and mountains around it are spectacular. The beds are very comfortable making it hard to get up. Many stairs and small hills to reach the upper rooms. The trails can be challenging, and I recommend using hiking boots there. Again, highly recommended.
