“The pub/hotel itself has walls of awards for food, so you can be sure of a good meal. The room itself was (I guess) a converted stable at rear of the building. Charming little room with a shower room upstairs. Very comfortable and great for what we wanted, a short break for a couple with dog. Hathersage is only 3/4 mile along the road with pavement, or alternative footpath across fields. We did the 6 mile Jane Eyre walk from the village up onto Stanage Edge.”

I phoned to say that I would be late for final check in (10pm) and Alexandra, the lovely lady on the front desk, made sure I was checked in dignity and made me feel so safe about arriving late. This was my second time visiting The Swan for work trips to Blyton Park track. Couldn’t recommend this B&B enough. Perfect for solo female travellers.”

“The only issue we had was there was no one to check us in, The contact numbers we had no one answered. We actually felt like we were trespassing. After driving around for an hour someone finally returned our call & messages and arranged to meet us. We had almost given up & were going to go home. Having said that we ended up having a really enjoyable stay :)”
