“All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. This is the third time we have stayed at the , " Duke of York". The rooms are always clean and well supplied and wonderfully quirky. The food is exquisite, good suppliers and a talented chef make any meal you order an absolute delight. The choice of beers and ciders definately hit the spot and are excellently kept. We will, without question, be looking to return for more stays regardless of the season because any time of year is great here.”

“Although our stay was fleeting (just one night) we were made to feel extremely welcome by all of the staff. The room lacked a TV, but actually this was an absolute blessing and it made change not to reach for a remote control. Instead there was a DAB radio which was playing a soothing Classic FM when we entered our rather classy country pub hotel. Everything was to a very high standard in our room. “If you are walking the Tarka Trail, actually even if you are not, this is the place to stay. The setting is idyllic the hosts are so welcoming and helpful and the lodge is well equipped. ”

“Very disappointing stay , We arrived after a 9 hour drive , when we arrived the cottage wasn’t cleaned and no bedding , We rang both Wayne and Karen , we decided to go buy some bedding , on route Karen did ring back to be fair and apologised saying she was told we was due on the 6th , (day of departure,) Went to the pub for an hour and Karen had the cottage ready , I thanked her by tx but no communications back , nothing from Wayne all week , I would of expected a follow up chat asking if……

“The room was great, the staff very friendly but what was outstanding was the food, what a surprise it was, pub food is normally quite boring in my opinion but this was anything but. Pork belly mash and the most delicious red cabbage I've ever had and I've travelled a lot and eaten a lot in my travels, this was up there with the best. ”
