Eastsound Getaway
We enjoyed staying at this property very much. The only trouble we had was with the key pad to enter the front door and lock up when we went out. It took several attempts each time we used it for it to accept the code.

Cozy for a winter stay
This was the third time I’ve rented this beautiful home in January or February, which has to say something ! I would buy this place in a heartbeat. With the cozy fireplace, well designed lighting and fully equipped, full size appliances it is perfect even if it’s rainy … but THIS time the weather was unusually nice. I’m sure it’s very nice “ in season” but Orcas Island is much too crowded in summer.

Great stay, cute and cozy home
Overall our stay was great and comfortable. The issue we had, which really bums me out is the lack of communication from Vacasa. I would have personally messaged the owner if there was a possibility, so instead, I hope she sees this. Prior to our arrival, I confirmed with them twice that there is a pack n play in the house and upon arriving late at night after a 16 hour travel day with our 9 month old, there wasn’t one at the house. I contacted Vacasa probably 6 times and each time they told me they’d “check on it” and never responded back, not even 7 days later. I finally gave up after 3 days. We are on an island in the middle of no where and had to scramble and have our family reach out to Facebook groups to try and get us a PP for our 9 month old. I have had problems with Vacasa in the past like this where they just stop responding instead of actually helping. Being an owner of 4 rental properties myself, I would highly encourage the owner to get a new management company. It too cute of a place to have such terrible service. Everything else was great, the house was super cozy!

Friends Get-Away
The property was great, perfectly situated for walks into the little town, right in the middle of the Island for easy drives or bikes to other areas. Clean, well appointed, very comfortable. Was great for us - 3 mid-age women who like to hang out together. Looks like would be good for group with kids or teens as well as there was a nice private downstairs area. Highly recommend.

Orcas Comfort
This is the third time staying on Orcas Island. This last time the rental was within walking distance to Eastsound. This made things very convenient to walk to the different shops and restaurants. The house was in great shape, clean and comfortably decorated. The few things that could easily be fixed are the oven, dining chair seats and a tree brushing against the upstairs east bedroom. We weren’t able to turn on the oven and was latter notified that we had to leave the broiler on for 5 minutes before it works. The dining chair seats were not the firmest but still okay and the tree branches by the east upstairs bedroom when the wind blew made some noise. These were all minor compared to the great and relaxing time in the beautiful home. We definitely would stay again!

Great stay!
Happy that we choose to spend a week here. This is our 2nd time to visit Orcas Island. Stayed at a resort the first time. Definitely preferred staying at a house vs resort/hotel. It was very cozy, clean and comfortable. The island restaurants as well as the few grocery stores close early. It was great to be able to prepare meals. The living room, kitchen and half bath are located middle main floor. The kitchen pantry has all the basic spices. The home was very relaxing after day of hiking and whale watching. Eastsound was a great location. The property management company had clear instructions to get into the home. No issues with wifi. The day of our arrival we received a message that the home was ready for an early check in. They sent a message to make sure that the home was clean and if there were issues. The house was very spacious. TV was easy to use. There were books, dvds and games. Fireplace in the living room was so nice. Plenty of towels, shampoo, soap! One thing that I will mention is that guest take stairs to get to a 1st floor basement bedroom that has an extra living area and the laundry room. The other bedrooms are located on the 3rd floor. If you have any physical issues walking/climbing stairs this may be something to consider. Eastsound shopping was about a 5-minute drive. Small public beach was a 5 min drive. Moran State Park 20min away. We loved our stay at the Dream Town Craftsman and would love to come back to Orcas Island again.

Overall great with a few improvements.
The property is in a great location and fit our needs well. The house looked clean when we arrived. However when we started using dishes to eat and cook, we had to rewash a lot of them. Particularly the pans, every pan we used had food remnants left on them. The dishwasher also was dirty. Despite that we enjoyed our time. The beds were comfortable and the house was well stocked.

Nice home
It could've been a cleaner home, obviously a pet was in here before us. Cobwebs on lights. Otherwise a lovely home with amazing kitchen. Very convenient trail to beachfront and cutest little town.

Orcas Island visit
The proximity of the cottage to town was great, easy walk into town. The street noise was loud. The house was well appointed, but I would place waste baskets in each room. It was easy to get all over the island from the location.

Favorite close to town spot
We've stayed at this home before and submitted an earlier review. This is our favorite spot to stay in Eastsound, as the location can't be beat (for walkability to town) and the home is lovely, well stocked, and fits our 4 person family (+ dog!) perfectly. Highly recommended!

Had a girls week getaway and this place was fantastic! Room for everyone and so so nice. Couldn't have asked for a better location either. 3 min walk to town, no need to worry about parking. In the flight path so did hear planes one morning but not an issue. Perfect fall getaway!

Beautiful getaway!
We absolutely loved our stay on Orcas!. The home was perfect for our week long stay. It was within walking distance of the Outlook Inn, the bakery, the grocery store and restaurants. The gourmet kitchen was a plus!

A great family home close to town.
This house was a great home for a family of five (ages 14, 12, 6.) The home is so close to town for a quick walk to a restaurant, the awesome Island Market or Crescent Beach to see the bald eagles. We really enjoyed the stay. The house was very clean and nicely decorated but the outside could use a paint refresh on the deck, but the inside was well kept up and the beds were comfortable. We would definitely return.

Overall stay was good. Did not expect to have to wash dishes but the dishwasher was filthy with food particles on the bottom. We were unable to get the oven to work and the outdoor grill was dirty. The banister going upstairs was sticky and dirty. The upstairs bathroom fan was full of dust. Other than those issues, it was close to downtown and trails so location was great.

A Comfortable Home in a Great Location
Our family (my wife, 3 kids, and dog) stayed at the home in Eastsound recently. We stayed for a week and it's hard to express how much we enjoyed our stay. The home itself is very comfortable and everything we needed for cooking and relaxing was provided. There is a also a public footpath a few steps from the front door that leads directly into town. We found ourselves walking to the market and other stores on a daily basis. The home does show some of the wear that is common in rental homes, but, overall, it's a really great place to stay for your time on Orcas!

Enjoyed this updated, family friendly home. Very walkable location to town, parks. Like all (?) places in Eastsound, there are frequent loud airplanes taking off nearby, starting early in the morning. But for us the trade off of being able to walk to restaurants and shops and parks was worth it. Clean and comfy, recommended!

Wonderful Getaway
We had people at high risk in our party so cleanliness and having our own space was really important. This house was clean, well organized and well appointed. It gave us the opportunity to take a vacation this year! Do bring your own Tupperware, ziplock bags or foil for leftovers but everything else we needed was there!

Nice property
This is a nice property. Somethings I would mention are the house is very close to other homes. It is in the direct, low, flight pattern for the Orcas airport and sides to a road. We had unseasonably hot weather and had to sleep with the windows opens. We heard the road and frequent airplanes starting early in the morning. Over all nice space with 2.5 baths, TVs without service but a big selection of movies. Very close to Eastsound. Overall a nice place.

Great location.

Almost PERFECT except for NO HOT WATER
The house was very comfortable, clean, and spacious for 2 adults snd 3 middle schoolers. The location is perfect. There are lovely foot paths leading into Eastsound through the woods and gardens so you can step out the front door and never have to walk on the road. Our one and only complaint is that there is an abysmal lack of hot water. There is not enough to fill the claw foot tub even part way to make for a bath comfortable. We tried multiple times over our stay hoping that the hot water tank would refill and we’d be able to enjoy that claw foot tub. But no, even when we hadn’t used hot water for ANYTHING else for the entire day, we’d get about 5 inches of kind-of-hot water in the bottom of the tub so that you’re whole front side of your body is out in the cold air. Not a pleasant bathing experience unfortunately. I’m guessing that the tank is tiny AND that the hosts have it set to a low temperature so that the water coming out of the tap is barely hot, even when you’re not running any cold water at the same time. All in all, we would still go back but with the expectation of no baths or hoping that the hosts will rectify the situation. I had read about the hot water in other reviews, but couldn’t believe it was that bad. But truly, the hot water reviews are accurate. I would request that the hosts turn up the water heater because it does feel like false advertising-if there’s a beautiful soaker tub in the description you better believe that people want to use it.

As others have mentioned, this property was close to town. And was priced accordingly for the type of house it is... that being said, we had dirty dishes upon arrival and no key in the lockbox. We had to call customer service to figure out how to get in the house. The oven is cumbersome to use, with no instructions onsite, we had to look up a YouTube video on how to deal with the pilot light. The house is worn in places, and could use sprucing up. The TV on the main floor is no bigger than my computer monitor, with no streaming available. Coupled with several DVDs missing from their cases, made for poor entertainment options at night (being winter, the town basically shuts down at 5pm).

Nice house, great location
My friend and I enjoyed staying at this house for a few days while we visited Orcas Island. The location was great – only a few blocks from the shore and all the shops and restaurants. The house was spacious and clean and the area was quiet. The only downsides were that the beds were a little old and lacked support and the hot water didn't last long enough to fill the bathtub. This was disappointing as I was looking forward to a nice hot bubble bath :( Other than that though, our stay was great!

Lovely home, warm and cozy, nicely appointed. However the bathroom trash was full of dirty diapers from the last guests. And for a home of this size we were surprised that there was not one hair dryer. We ended up having to buy one in town. Otherwise enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful house, perfect location
The house was beautiful...a fabulous kitchen for those that like to cook. Within a 5 minute walk on a beautiful, blackberry-lined trail, to the heart of Eastsound, as well as walkable to the brewery (great local brews and outdoor patio + games) and the airport (some of us flew in and walked to the house). We were a group of 5 adults and 1 child and it was perfectly set up for all of us to comfortably enjoy the house without being on top of each other. Loads of board games and a lovely front porch, and BBQ. Really, a perfect place for a long weekend with friends and family, close to the action in town but super quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend!!
