Rustic Cottage
Our stay at this rustic cottage was nice and relaxing. It’s location is ideal as it’s off the beaten path, close to the waterfront of Mobile Bay, great restaurants, and downtown Fairhope.

Nice quite place
Finding the property was a challenge, especially in the dark and the listing does not provide any help in locating and typing the address in Google leads down the wrong road, otherwise house was clean and nice.

Reunion weekend
For the third year, we were so happy to be able to rent this property for a daughter who has elderly dogs who cannot be left behind but whom we cannot let miss our annual family reunion. This cottage is convenient to The Grand, where the reunion takes place, cute, comfortable, and just the perfect size. (And some of us enjoy using it to take a quiet little break from all the reunion fun!)

Point Clear stay clearly gets full points
This was our second stay at Porch Lane Cottage F in less than 12 months and we have already booked our stay for next spring. If you’re looking for a private and quiet vacation spot that is a short trip to many fine dining and shopping locations as well as beaches, fishing charters and other entertainment venues….this could be a great choice, just for the two of you. Located at the end of a lane in wooded seclusion off Scenic Highway 98, there is no noisy neighbors and loud partying late at night. We spent time shopping and dining in Fairhope, took two trips to the beaches at Gulf Shores, enjoyed two fishing charters with Reel Gypsy Fishing from Fort Morgan, took a day trip to Dauphin Island to shop, dine and swim at the beaches there. The cottage was rustic, but well maintained and clean with comfortable furnishings. We had great communication with the property managers throughout the entire process from beginning to end. The dollar value for that area was excellent. Thank you, Gulf 2 Beach and VRBO, for helping to make our stay a memorable one.

I made a mistake and did not book enough days. Vivian helped me book one more day and saved me from driving back in the rain! The area was quiet and really nice! Can definitely see myself booking again.

Rustic cabin in the woods
Neat place in the woods just across the street for Mobile Bay. Secluded, but in a nice neighborhood. A short drive to Foley, Mobile and the gulf. Reasonably priced. It’s rustic and meant to be that way. Not a 5 star suite, but we aren’t looking for that either. Had all the amenities of home. My kid loved the fire pit and outdoor shower! Would definitely stay there again.

Nice small cottage, good location, in need of maintenance
We were babysitting 6 month old grandchild and needed a little more space than a hotel room for nap times. Cute cottage, nice layout, needs general maintenance. Cold faucet didn’t work in bathroom, shower handle broken, peeling Sheetrock/paint in bathroom, couch supports lose or broken. Cottage had clean linens and was clean overall, Nice quiet safe location close to The Grand Hotel and a short ride to Fairhope. Enjoyed the front porch rocking chairs and appreciate provision of all basic appliances and needs.

Great quiet place to stay!

Secluded and old
Extremely secluded in the middle of woods. My unit had someone’s potato chip crumbs all on the carpet, luckily there was a vacuum. Peeling paint in the bathroom. Spider webs here and there. Laundry closet is outside on the heavily wooded back porch. The backyard was just mud and woods, and no place to park in front that wasn’t muddy. It’s not a bad house, but definitely not kept up and cleaned thoroughly.

Last minute booking, Great place
We had our planned vacation at Dauphin Island canceled due to hurricane damage to area booked. So we jumped on VRBO to find a place in the eastern shore area. It turned into a wonderful and eventful experience. We loved the cottage and had a great time doing day trips to a great variety of local attractions. The Fairhope area gave us a much broader range of culinary choices. We loved our stay.

Anniversary getaway!
This rental was perfect for our little anniversary getaway. We had never been to Fairhope, Al and we really enjoyed it. Such a cute, charming little area. We drove to Gulf Shores but didn't mind the drive. The rental was clean, cool, and comfortable. Everything we needed!

Family wedding
We love that we found this adorable cottage to stay in the week we were in Fairhope for a family wedding. It was the perfect place to relax in when all the wedding hubbub was over each day. Close to everything but very private. And cheaper than staying in a hotel! Thank you again!

Peaceful stay in the woods
Was really peaceful- had some issues with toilet flushing but think it was the massive amount of rain we got may have affected the sewer system- lights didn’t work on porch - we even changed the bulb but still didn’t come on- probably a wiring issue- but other than that was a really cute house with beautiful surrounding woods!! Would stay there again!

At the end of a little lane off of scenic 98 there's a little cottage, just right for two people. Well-equipped kitchen, nice front porch. Secret access to the Point Clear boardwalk (aka Promenade) a short walk away.

Our Stay From March 21-23, 2021
I loved the quiet location in the city and the cute put togetherness of the cabin. It was perfect to get away and be with just our family and be very close to the beautiful bay and town. We unfortunately did not stay as long as we had hoped due to the inclement weather predicted. We did not feel the cabin was a safe space to stay with no basement in the event of a tornado. I would suggest providing a place to go for those visiting to take cover during their stay for hazard weather. I also found the toilet to be an issue in the cabin. I had to hold the flush knob for at least 4 seconds for anything to go down. Also it smells like an unflushed toilet in the bathroom all the time. My husband, an engineer says it is because there is no vent pipe that escapes from the room for the toilet to breathe so it is trapped in the house. Overall though it is a great place to get away.

Great "homebase" for activities we wanted to do
We choose this property because is was secluded but still near different things we wanted to do through the week. The only negative is that we did have to drive anywhere we wanted to go as it isn't in walking distance to piers, stores, etc. However, that is kind of what we wanted in finding something away from everything.

Outdated
The property was located off the road with a muddy driveway with potholes. The interior and furniture are very dated. There was one lamp for the whole living room. Another lamp on the end table did not put out enough light for anything. The refrigerator was dated and ran very loud. One of the lamps in the bedroom didn’t even have a bulb in it. The handle on the shower was missing, so it was just the metal part to turn on and adjust water temperature. The nicest part of the house was the front porch. I would not recommend this place to anybody.

Charming
This is a great little getaway spot! I stayed solo, the location is perfect, lots of privacy and very quiet. I enjoyed being off of scenic hwy 98 where there was a sidewalk and was able to take my dog for walks and she loved it. The cottage had everything you needed for basic essentials and was clean and tidy. I cooked several meals in the kitchen and everything I needed except for ingredients were readily available. I highly recommend this little gem for a weekend or week getaway. It is also within 10 min of the grocery store and downtown Fairhope. Thank you for providing an excellent stay! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Sweet Cottage in the Woods
My husband and I stayed in this sweet cabin with our small dog for a wedding in Fairhope. It was easy to find (even at night) and served our needs perfectly. It is also very near downtown Fairhope. The hardwoods throughout make for a a very clean and dog friendly place to stay.
