“The cottage is extremely cosy and perfectly located. As soon as you turn onto the farm you’re met with a gorgeous view of the barn with its thatched roof and each section gets its own lovely private outdoor dining area! I’ve stayed here a few times now and every time the place has been spotless, cosy and easy to access. The decor is tasteful and traditional with some gorgeous period features. The hosts have also been very friendly! Can’t wait to stay again!”

“We booked last minute to get out of the bustle of the city. Suzanne and John were really thoughtful in sharing that there was unexpected roadwork outside the cottage, giving us the opportunity to find another place to stay but we decided to go ahead and are so glad that we did. “We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. I went prepared with all the usual kitchen essentials but found that it was not needed. Dishwasher tablets, coffee filters, it was all there. “We chose the cottage to celebrate the New Year with a group of friends and honestly couldn’t have made a better choice. The cottage is quite spacious and so beautifully decorated (even more beautiful in real life than the pictures - it really feels like you’re in a movie!), and Andrew and David have been wonderful hosts. “This was our first holiday away without family and June and Nicholas were such attentive and informative hosts that they easily made us feel welcomed and at home. The local area is gorgeous so hikes are highly recommended and lots of local pubs do great food. Jimmys farm and wildlife park is a must if you have time too! We definitely plan on coming back again to the area when time allows to explore more of it :)”

“Our party enjoyed the comfort and coziness of this 500 yr old property. We loved walking in the parkland and sitting by the roaring fire. “The Tallow Factory is a wonderful character-filled place for a family or group gathering, in the heart of Dedham Village and the surrounding Dedham Vale. The ground floor has three comfortable entertaining areas, if you include the walled garden along with the wood beamed lounge and large country kitchen. Upstairs easily sleeps 8-10 people. The neighboring Sun Inn serves excellent food. Thoroughly recommend!!”

“Beautiful cottage with every convenience provided in a lovely setting, not far from the beach. The most fabulous hamper was in the kitchen when we arrived, everything for a couple of breakfasts. Plenty of hot water and very comfortable bed. Lovely place to stay.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at Rubblestone Cottage. The cottage was warm and comfortable, with everything we needed. A cosy living room with a window that looks over the meadow, which allows you to watch the visiting wildlife. Main bedroom was very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare food and the owner provides a great list of pubs, restaurants and takeaways. The lighting through out is well placed and there are some strategically placed night……

“Es war dieses Mal unser fünfter Aufenthalt in Cholchester, sodass wir die Gegend bereits sehr gut kannten. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig und idyllisch an direkter Wassefront. Cholchester ist mit dem Auto in ca. 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Oberflächlich ist das Haus sauber, nur beim genaueren Hinsehen und Nutzen der Küche waren zum Beispiel deutliche Fettanhaftungen an der Dunstabzugshaube und nicht gut gereinigtes Besteck festzustellen. “The place was spacious and made an excellent base for exploring the Suffolk area whilst being really quiet. Shower wasn't great but they'd provided all the utensils you'd need for cooking and enjoying your stay. Bed had a rubber cover and there was a noisy liner under the bed sheet which made it very warm but it was comfortable. Decor and furnishings are fairly budget but it's good value and ultimately a nice space to relax and enjoy the evening after a day out exploring and walking.”

“A nice modern caravan in a good location, close to town and the beach. It appeared a bit grubby in laces when we arrived so I have the work surfaces and some of the kitchen crockery/ glasses/ cups a rinse with hot soapy water as appeared a bit greasy/ fingerprint marks. Overall a pleasant stay.”
