The owners did state they are building a bigger bunk house on their property so I plan to return with more of my family. We are very thankful for this retreat in the woods. “This place has potential, but there are several things that need to be done for the property to bring it up to the standard of a vacation rental. First and foremost, it needs a deep cleaning. We spent our first full day of vacation cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms. The beds are awful. Awful. The appliances are in need of replacement. The entire home needs somebody with resources to invest some cash and bring it to a standard worthy of charging people to stay. Some other things of note,……

The set up of the cabin is definitely all inclusive for a romantic getaway. I loved the isolated location and the beautiful nature scenery. We are definitely making this our getaway spot. “River’s Bend was one of our favorite western VA cabin stays to date. Its location is unique - remote enough for dark skies and the sounds of wildlife, with the thrill of the train when it makes its way through the tunnel under the property. The cabin is so cozy, the beds firm and very comfortable. I slept so well every night. We loved the screened in porch, and the river lookout off the tiered back deck. “The overall stay and communication was fine. I guess in all of my years renting properties I was never, ever upcharged for sheets and towels. Totally blown away by this. We arrived late in the evening to discover all 9 beds have no sheets and there are no towels in the bathrooms. That was a 230 upcharge. My fault for not reading the fine print. Wow. Never again.”

“The cabin was very quiet, just what we came for during our sisters' weekend getaway as a meeting place between North Carolina and Ohio. It was very clean (that's important and easily critiqued for me). The photos don't do the nice cabin justice. It's new, and still has a new smell as of October 2025. And unusual for new construction, the pretty wood floors are creeky; rustic feeling but very noticable in the quiet space.Not shown/explained is one bathroom is downstairs with two bedrooms, and one……
