The Location - This penthouse apartment is set two storeys above the village shops of Fingal Bay. It is just 200 metres to Fingal Bay Beach (patrolled September to April) and less than a kilometre along a scenic walking/bike track to the Fingal Bay Surf Club, restaurant and cafe and a great kids playground.

The Apartment - A penthouse apartment with plenty of room. There is a balcony with gas BBQ and water views over Fingal Bay, leading into the living area with a flat screen TV, DVD player and CD player, a dining area and a modern kitchen with a microwave, oven, cook top, dishwasher and a coffee machine (BYO Espressotoria pods). Four bedrooms (queen bed, two double beds and two king single beds), second TV in the main bedroom, a main bathroom with shower and ensuite with shower and spa bath, and an internal laundry with a washer (no dryer). All this plus ducted air conditioning throughout, free Wi-Fi and lift access from secure parking (for two cars).

You will also have access to the swimming pool and outdoor area at the complex.

There are definitely smoke alarms at this property.

Linen packs and bedmakes are provided at this property.

Poorly Maintained Unit

When we first entered and opened the rooms it was obvious that the floors had not been swept clean. We accept that there could be some walked in sand, but this also included human or animal hair blown into the corners of the tiled rooms. There was dried food spills stuck on the bench and table tops, and the kitchen and living room floors. They were sticky and greasy and appeared to have been smeared over with a dirty greasy cloth. An example is the top of the cd/ cassette player ( which does not work and we did not clean). The dishwasher contained unwashed plates and crockery, and there were plates in the cupboards that had been hidden away unwashed. Consequently the first afternoon and night of our stay was spent cleaning the premises. During the course of our stay other matters also came to light-The barbecue gas bottle was empty. The agent told us to take it to the petrol station, but there where no tools provided to disconnect it from the BBQ. Two hours wasted changing your gas bottle. When we did light it we found a serious safety problem. The back of the griller jets have burned out and gas/flames came out at the back of the cooking area. No BBQ's as a result. The floor of the kitchen stove needs to be cleaned. The operating instructions on the door of the stove have worn off. No other instructions are provided. The windows and flyscreens on the two bedrooms adjacent to the pool area are coated and clogged with dirt. Its hard to see through them clearly. When you open and pull back the blinds in the bedrooms on either side of the front door, and let the light in, there is a furry coating of mouldy dust on the walls in the far right hand corners. The drainage plug in the spa does not seal. The water has to be left running to keep the spa water level up to the correct operating height. A waste of the local water supply. We did not not need to operate the air conditioner, but after noting the dirty dribble stains down the wall below the vents on the hall wall, opposite the kitchen, makes you wonder if the air conditioner works properly. The fact that it is necessary to have 4 pedestal fans around the place indicates a problem. We feel obliged to make this statement because in our opinion the advertised presentation of the unit on your web site does not reveal its actual current, run down, and poorly maintained condition. Very disappointing, particularly when every effort is being made to encourage tourism and holidays in the Shoal Bay area.
