Beautiful

A gracious lodge in a spectacular setting. We were welcomed warmly and helped to take our cases to our lodge. The lodge was smallish and basic but in a lovely spot surrounded by wildlife. Food was excellent, and we loved afternoon snacks on the terrace. The pool was beautifully sited and quiet. Darius led a very enjoyable and informative sundowner walk. Only a tiny criticism - the service in the restaurant was sometimes very slow. Overall our stay was a delight.

This is a highly unique property located in an extraordinary place in the desert. They staff was terrific and the excursions to the Fish River Canyon were quite remarkable.

Stunning, some may say that its a long walk to the rooms, no Internet in bedrooms and no fridge or Tv, but we loved it

I had a not so good experience with Canyon Lodge and found their customer service extremely poor. While I had an issue, I would have thought that the lodge would have had better support through a difficult situation. They did not. Thus, my rating is what it is.

Eine wunderbare Lodge mit sehr nettem Personal . Die einzelnen Häuschen sind an die Felsen gebaut und liebevoll eingerichtet. Vom Swimmingpool hat man einen schönen Blick auf die Umgebung.

Die Lage der Canyon Lodge ist traumhaft, das Essen hervorragend , die Zimmer urig, das Bad ist etwas klein, aber die Dusche ist groß. Die Guides sind hervorragend . Der Swimmingpool ist zwar etwas weiter weg vom Gesamtkomplex , dafür mitten im Nirgendwo, was auch sehr reizvoll sein kann.

Super Lodge und sehr einzigartig

Wir hatten ein family-room gebucht und Lodge nr. 21 bekommen. Dieser Raum war sehr interessant, fast wie eine Höhle, da mehrere Felsen integriert waren. Das Bad ging nochmals 5 Stufen weiter runter. Fantastisch!!! Trotzdem sind wir nach der 1 Nacht in das Häuschen Nr. 28 umgezogen. Dieser Raum war der von der Abbildung im Internet, sehr hell und luftig. Der Nachteil war jedoch, man musste sehr weite Wege zurücklegen und viele Stufen hoch. Wir haben uns in dieser Lodge sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Wir waren in 5 Gondwana-Lodges und dies war mit Abstand die beste, obwohl auch hier im Zimmer kein Kühlschrank vorhanden war. Von der Lodge aus ist man in 20 Min. am Canyon.

Great rooms, wonderful staff. Amazing meals. The country side is gorgeous. An amazing place to stay with wildlife wandering the grounds and a wonderful pool to cool off in.

Umgebung, Pool, Chalets in den Fels integriert war hervorragend. Es fehlte bei der Hitze ein Kühlschrank. Bei drei Nächten viel zu geringer Stauraum. Das Licht im Chalet kann romantisch sein, aber um ein Buch zu lesen, reicht es nicht. WiFi war nur im Restaurant/Rezeptionsbereich vorhanden und da auch nur 100mb pro Tag. Essen: Kein Lunchangebot, Dinner fast gleich an mehreren Abenden, Fleischqualität verbesserungswürdig. Espresso/Cappuccino nicht vorhanden.

Empfang und Betreuung waren sehr herzlich und persönlich. Die Lodge selbst ist harmonisch in die Landschaft integriert, die Poolanlage atemberaubend. Man sieht praktisch alle heimischen Tierarten; Zebras, Oryxe und Spingböcke spazieren überall herum, einfach paradiesisch! Essen und Getränke haben ebenfalls sehr gut geschmeckt. Unser Chalet war rustikal eingerichtet und bot nicht sehr viel Platz, aber abends war's richtig gemütlich. Die Valentin's Day-Dekoration war liebevoll und aufwändig gemacht. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und wären gerne länger geblieben!
