If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be a real challenge. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy hints for a hassle-free start to your time in Glomfjord. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
