No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of handy tips that will get your Kipili escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp objects (like a knife or scissors) hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include explosive or flammable substances, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The main aim is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to pack a jacket just in case you get chilly. Opt for roomy, flat shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your luggage.
- The serious condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this happening. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks may also help.
