If you're poorly prepared, travelling can be tough. But there's no need to panic. Follow these helpful hints for a trouble-free start to your time in Lock. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you've got all the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the zippers of your hand luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable products, like aerosols and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by wearing layers, and opt for flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
