We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and discovering Mandabe in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you take the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your laptop, a charger, any vital medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in the bottom of your hand luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and bring a sweater as it tends to get cool inside the cabin. Enclosed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this occurring. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
