On your future tour of Georgia you may want to stop by Berry College. Just a hour and a half away from Atlanta it's an easy way to experience the foothills of the smokies.

This is the Berry college mill. Constructed in 1930, the wooden overshot waterwheel, considered one of the largest in the world at 42 feet in diameter, was constructed by student workers. The Old Mill is operated on special occasions, such as Mountain Day. When available, the Oak Hill Gift Shop sells cornmeal ground at the Old Mill.

「We had a great time at this lake house this winter. We loved the setup of the back porch and large windows in the living room for the lake view. The house had everything we needed. It was nice and peaceful and we were the only ones around. We had beautiful sunsets as well. We would definitely stay here again. 」

「This was such a nice little gem in mentone. Our kids loved walking down to the water and playing, and feeding ducks. We made a fire for marshmallows one night and we really enjoyed the large screened in porch. It was spacious and stocked with everything we needed. 」

「Such a lovely stay- would definitely book again! Cottage was cozy and comfy! My husband and I enjoyed it so much! We were able to light a fire and sit outside, got some puppy visitors which was so nice! The grounds were beautiful. Easy drive to lots of hiking trails and close to Little River Canyon! The hosts were very friendly and checked in on us and made sure we were comfortable contacting them for anything we needed. Highly recommend!!! 」
