Last Hurrah Trip

Our stay was great - visited a son and his family which included a new granddaughter and also viewed the eclipse. Motel accommodations were also great.

On my first impression, i would have canceled my room and gone elsewhere. But, we had been traveling all day and needed rest. Gladly the bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. The carpets are horribly dirty and worn. The breakfast didn't look appetizing. When trying to check out, nobody was at the desk nor did anyone come when we rang the bell a number of times. Overall, this was a stay we don't plan to repeat.

The bed was clean and wonderful. The exercise room was non-existent. It was 2 small machines off the main lobby. The pool was closed. The reason we picked that place was the pool (it was closed), the gym and the free breakfast. Wish they had been honest about the gym.

Owners were rude and not helpful at all:( We asked for them to open up the dining room for us to have sandwiches & snacks (about 6 family members) to visit family after a local funeral. I had brought the food in and they refused...It's VERY high priced paid $125.00 for a DUMP! Only reason we would even stay in a Days Inn is because that is all Fordyce has to offer. We were glad there was even a hotel to be able to stay overnight, but they could have been gracious enough to unlock the dining room for us to have a place to gather and visit for a very SMALL group. They will learn what customer service means to guests.

I didn't stay because the room was horrible had bags of trash in the middle of the bed no sheets was on the bed so they transferred me to another room it had bugs big holes in the comforter from smoke it smell like marijuana and I explain to the manager that I had my 1-year-old grandbaby with me and I tried to cancel they did not want to allow me to cancel but I thank God for Expedia for counseling that reservation and they said I will be reimbursed would not be charged for that that stay because I never did stay in there it was horrible
